Classic rating (rounded to the hundreds):

-Game Rules-

-Depending on number of participants, players will be split pools. Top two players from each pool advance into a double elimination bracket.
- All games are best of 3, with the exception of semis and finals being best of 5.
- Your starting empire will be determined when you sign up. You are expected to play this empire for every first game in each set.
- Random is allowed as an empire selection.
- Your first game is played on Forest. Game two and three, loser picks from Forest, Ice Lands, Gates, or Desert.
- After map is picked for games two and three, winner is allowed to change empire. The loser is then allowed to change empire.
- Any game must be decided within 12 minutes. After the game timer hits 12 minutes, the player with tower control wins the game.
- If the opposing player is lagging, and the game is moving abnormally slow to the point where it is uncomfortable, you have the right to request a lag test. A TO will play an up to three minute deathmatch with the player, before making a verdict. If the player is found to not be giving any significant latency, any results from the previous game remain. However, should there be trouble with lag, the TO has the right to DQ on grounds of not being able to support the match at proper gameplay speed.
- Pausing for any reason during a game will result in a forfeit if elected by your opponent. Even if there are technical difficulties, it's up to your opponent to allow that. Plan in advance and test your hardware/software!
- It is not against the rules to talk to your opponent, but keep it clean. Any vulgar language or obscenities will not be tolerated, and you will be DQ'd.
- If anything your opponent does is questionable, you may take a snapshot of it to provide proof of any illegal play, and upload it to an image sharing site before addressing it to a TO. Abuse of this system, however, will cause for DQ on holding up the match.
- Wait for bracket announcements within the IRC channel #team-zenith. If you are unfamiliar with what an IRC is, I suggest reading this to help you out.
- During the bracket hours, you are required to remain ready and attentive for when it's your turn to play a tournament match. PLAYING ANY FRIENDLIES OR RANKED GAMES DURING THE TOURNAMENT OUTSIDE OF BREAK TIME IS IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.
- After a match, you are required to save your replay link. Give all replays of the set to a TO at once, not link by link. The exception will be final matches, as the stream will be catching up to the gameplay.

-Gameplay Rules/Known glitches/exploits-
Here's a list of known bugs or problems we don't want to witness happen in game. If anyone is to be found abusing such methods, consequence and potentially disqualification will occur.

Please refrain from
- Running bombers under the bottom of the map to avoid castle archers. It's okay if crawlers are used as a deterrent.
- Using archidons to hit beyond the range of castle archers (or taking advantage of CA's lag). This is for castle dead or castle archer. Swords can be used as deterrent.
- Positioning ranged units on the bottom of the map to avoid being hit by other ranged units. This is a serious bug that while hard to do, can be set up, and is not allowed.
- Positioning air units on the nearest side/bottom of the map and behind castle archer to avoid being hit.
- Charrog rejumping or using cycloid double tornado.
- spawning trees near the bottom or top of the map to cause the scorpions to walk outside of the map (and remain mostly impervious).

These are just to name a few of the most popular tricks.

F.A.Q.S

Who are the Tournament Organizers?
[TZ]Rain, [TZ]DAZ, [TZ]Galeforce, [TZ]Spino and myself, WyzDM. I will be commentating most of the time for the live stream, so query your match results to the others. If there is a real emergency, then notify me.

Can I sign up even if I'm not sure I can be there?
You really should only sign up when you know you can confirm your attendance 100%, but I won't stop you. Please do us a favor and update your status accordingly.

How is this event starting?
Join us in our swiftIRC channel, #team-zenith. Unfamiliar with IRC? You can join using the webbased page, or on our Team Zenith website.

More help on the IRC can be found here.

Can someone else use my account?
If you're going to be a loud mouth about it, my answer is NO. It's not my rules I'm enforcing, but the game's rules. Seriously, was that incident with AZXC that long ago where no one remembers?

The event is at a bad time for me. Why can't we play matches over the week?
I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain this, but I guess it can't be helped. Every other time (yes, I mean every other time) this was set up, it's failed. Players in opposite timezones will still not be able to compete against each other, as it's just basically a week of "Oh hey I didn't see you." No wonder, you're both sleeping when the other player's awake. And when they finally do get paired if at all, you're delayed the whole progress for everyone. And it's not just one incident, it's gonna happen for everybody. I'm not wasting my time to this "leisure" of playing when you want to. Register, show up, and be there. Maybe next time I can get it on a Saturday. This time, it's on a Sunday. Take time off from school or work if you need to. That's what I'm doing. It's on one day in advance to give time for accommodations. I will not host another day by day event EVER AGAIN. It was so bad I wrote this painfully long paragraph about it. Please don't ask me anymore.

What are exhibition matches?
Matches for fun against certain paired opponents. The results will not affect seeding or result in tournament placing. If you are curious and would like to be included in one, you are welcome to arrange your own exhibition match with another player, and message me about it.

Can my starting empire be random?
Yes it can

I'm 1400 in classic, but I'm 1900 in DM. Can I use my DM rating?
No. I only need classic rating. This tournament is in classic mode.

Is there an entrant cap or rating limit?
No, as many players can sign up, and hopefully that many players attend. As mentioned before, you guys have a piss poor history of showing. Hopefully we can change that.

Good luck!

Also Yes I was going to pay forward my prize of membership as I am already a lifetime member ;) (Its amazing how many people as me, "Do you get free membership" - that's such a strange question. ) I dont care which account i'm putting the membership on so it does not necessarily be have to be the name of the one you used in the tourney.

the time is almost exactly the same as t2p.....
Last time it created tons of trouble for me which made me almost quit in the mid-way

It will be perfect if this can be held couple hours earlier (3-4hours) in order to suit the Asian players for fairness (last time benefited non-Asians , this time again ?)

If not, alright I will probably just give up then.

Whatever, excellent job of holding this event again

Yee hype. We're looking at $1200~ total prizepool value with $500~ as first place. This will be sick.

"It will be perfect if this can be held couple hours earlier (3-4hours) in order to suit the Asian players for fairness (last time benefited non-Asians , this time again ?)"

Last time also ran way overtime. Let's see how much smoother we can make this, but I think it's more fitting WyzDM's timezone. I have to wake up at 5 am~ for this, any earlier and I can't make it really. So.

I'm trying to accommodate a lot. It's more than EST. This covers the states. It's bias, true, yet it's also where a majority of the players are coming from. However myst, I can be open to your needs. I have allotted time for the bracket to go through 7:00, but it may be finished earlier depending on sign ups and all. Also, take the day off. This isn't about $100 any more. This is serious reward. CJ are really hoping for not just high numbers, but a high skill level showing out here. So please participate.

last time I played at like 12am till 7am, a whole night without sleep and tired as fk
In GF zomar was like 6pm while 7am for me , tiredness was the reason I brought out ele to make things simple.

So yea, such time just means Asian players cannot join again , but alright I will try to suit you guys :/

I wish I could make it easier, hard to please everyone. I can try starting an hour earlier. I will see what sign ups are who is interested in the next few days. I don't see why we couldn't start brackets at 11.

An hour earlier should work out better for me trying to have dinner during that lunch break, and will mean I won't have to stay up quite as late.

Leave it at the time that's already set, don't start it an hour earlier.

Its going to overlap with a meal time no matter where you are, so you will most likely be excused if its not for too long.

Also, 4 commentators? May be overdoing it a little - as long as you don't start talking over each other and it all seems too crowded.

Why is there no swamps and hallo? Repetitive play on M/L maps is pretty tedious...

If you finish your pools early, you have free time early. Just be mindful of the bracket and time constraints. There will also be break times in bracket, if needed.

Repetitive sword archer play is pretty tedious too. Aside from that, the map lengths provide no room for midgame. At high level play, games are decided by first spear, or within 2 minutes capitalizing on a single misqueue or trivial mistake which in a larger map, has room to recover from.
