Its actually pretty fun, even if its not like the first one

Destruction is 10000 times better than Bad Company's shit excuse for destruction. Though you can't make caves in this one. :(

me and my friends used to play red faction all the time and just makes magical caves.

I never played the second one.

Don't bother with RF2 Nod. Not anywhere near as good as the first.

Yeah the first one was much better. I think the second one even used the same engine, but it had a lot more metal structures so you couldn't cave well in it either for a few of the levels :[

Explain to me how Bad Company's destruction is shit?

Also, I wanna try Red Faction. I've heard people talking about it, but I've never played it personally.

Its way too fake. Sure, you can blow holes in a building, but those holes are predertermined ahead of time. Whatever explosive you shoot a house with, won't blow a hole where it lands, but instead, it blows up a hole thats scripted to be there.

I can't explain, but its extremely crappy. Too noticeable and stuff. Red Faction 3 doesn't have predertermined holes, but instead its actual physics, and they've said how they had this stress system and that they actually had to make structures with actual support otherwise they'd collapse into themselves just by themselves.

It's EA's brand new Frostbite engine. It's not going to be perfect. It's not bad though. Much better than fucking Mercenaries. THAT was awful.

Plus, Merc 1 is years old. Can't really compare the two.

I've never played red faction. but I want to try sometime. (I'm pretty sure playing the 3rd one first would spoil me to the older ones)

It wouldn't really spoil, since its actually pretty different gameplay. Really, just play the first one, the second one has nothing to do with either games and was a pretty bad sequel.

And theres a demo of Red Faction 1. Go download it. It has the glasshouse and its basically just sandbox cave making.
