If he is rushing you then attack his statue your build provideing it's some solid like Speartons and archers should do more damage than his build.
You could also chase his army and kill his shadows. Also shadows are expensive pressure him in the beginning and stop his Eco and cut out the shadows all together. Shadows work best late game where you can assinate mages

If you see a ninja mass or a spear mass buy CA3 and Reslience and preferably walls. Make your miners attack the mass when your statue gets rushed and if you can poison the mass as it runs past your Mage. This way you throw loads of damage onto the mass and the poison eats away at it as well, with the statue hp increase from Reslience you can outlast it and their mass will be forced to retreat back into your army or die trying to get the statue. When that happens your army just needs to assult their base and finish off the game.
It's all a matter of seeing the statue rush and premting it before it happens.

Albowtross does well also, as it cannot be hit, yet does a reasonable amount of dmg on top of burn damage which does a TON of damage when poison is also a factor.

Albows don't do much for long because Ninjas can shinobi past them mostly unscathed

True, but dmg is pretty solid as well as you aren't threatened in any way holding tower. They do do a lot of damage though, I have used it before, it may not be the best, idk. You don't see it too much in 2.2k range.

Success especially OvO, is all about reading your opponents meta, and learning to exploit any weaknesses it exposes. Some players, albows are a great way to go, especially if they go ground heavy, you can regain or take tower with just a few albows... but giants + ninajs versus giants + albows means game over if you are the albow player generally...
So you have to vary

Which is irrelevant considering this was about base rushing

It's solid against rushes.
I have used it before.
Blazing bolts does wonders.

Only if you know the rush is coming many, many minutes ahead.
