Valve said they didn't really like the PS3 and that they had no plans to bring it to PS3, but they might look into it. Though I can see why it was assumed exclusive.

I heard there WAS an update, but that theres still many problems that exist. There's still a huge petition to get EA to patch it properly.

While there have been rumors circulating the Internet that claim that Left 4 Dead, Valve's upcoming zombie-filled shooter for the PC and 360, would be coming to the PS3, it looks like there's no truth behind them. We contacted Doug Lombardi from Valve to comment on the rumor and his response was clear: "there is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production."
It appears that PS3 owners are out of luck -- at least for now.
