2 and 3 have clear answers, but your answer to question one is still unclear. I could just choose grasslands, gates and forest, and the other player could pick swamp, h'ween and desert, and we'd never agree.

I think he refers to a method where players select a map by striking maps. Meaning they alternate where they don't play, eliminating the maps to only one playable map. It's a way to disagree, to agree.

Also, I hope there is either seeding in this tournament, or the current bracket is not final. Me having to play Spino R1 is not fair for either of us.

Brackets are NOT final. But I'm going to need help deciding on them.

why couldn't you play Spino R1 if this is knockout you will have to play him or beat someone that beat him eventualy.

Because we're arguably the higher ranked players here. Having us play R1 means one of us would be eliminated prematurely.
