This is geared more toward the older members of the community, but can work for high/middle schoolers on here too I suppose.

-What do you do for a living?

-What were some jobs you used to work?

-What do you eventually want to do for a living? (when you grow up or when you get the credentials)

-And how much do you want to make?

I worked retail at Party City for a year and it was god awful. The pay was garbage, the work was boring and tedious, and when I got promoted to manager when I turned 18, I received no training whatsoever when it went to the cash drawer money handling or anything else managers had to do. They basically handed me the keys, said "you open the store by yourself on Friday" and left. Needless to say, I only made it up to ten dollars an hour before I found the job I do now.

I'm now a laborer for tile setters at a tiling company. It's hard work, but it's consistent hours (7-4 mon-fri) and they START at 11, so when I learn how to tile and get my own tools they give pretty hefty raises.

Try to stay on topic to some degree. What do you guys do? :D

I worked for Vector Marketing, a company that does demonstrations of CUTCO Cutlery's cutlery. I was the equivalent of a freelance contractor, which I guess means that all my work was client based. That sucked ass though because I had to set up the appointments based on people I already knew that fit the company's target demographic, and I knew about 5 people. The pay was cool though; I got paid based on how many appointments or demonstrations I carried out (Vector prefers lowkey in-house demos over door to door tactics), but after my first five or so my paychecks dried out.

I took an extended vacation and contemplated whether I should keep working for them or not and eventually headed to college, where I happen to be now.

I wonder if my contract is still active.

In elementary school, I earned the presidents award, getting the president to sign it himself. Then I went on to achieve a Valedictorian award. Easily, getting a scholarship in my elective path of STEM over at UCB. I studied engineering and technology for a few years. And now I work for Google as an IT Manager. I typically make $60 an hour, for 7 hours(4-11)

I work for my family's traditional British Fish n' Chips Shop. And since its some weird thing my family do at an early age, I kind of run most things there. Unlike most restaurants, we close at random hours of the day, so it gets busy in short bursts, which makes long hours seem more manageable and plenty of time to day rude things to people here.

The President of what country? Do you mean he personally signed an elementary schooler's award or it was a stamp signature?

If President Obama signed your award when you were in Elementary school that means you were in Elementary school some time after 2008 and there's no way you could have graduated with a degree by now. Much less landed a job as IT Manager at Google.

I'm pretty sure he skipped a few years, Naimad. Sheesh, you can't even recognize something as obvious as that!

He mentioned studying something in the STEM field at UCB (I presume the Uni of Berkeley) and then getting a job at Google. Of course, I read the post. Also afaik valedictorian awards aren't a thing in Elementary. They're high school graduation awards.

Valedictorian is definitely given in elems too, Damian. Like I don't even know why you're saying all this nonsense instead of standing in awe at the thought of being allowed to communicate with a human that has such prestige.
