I don't think it's worth a permaban in this specific case, since the only action the extra accounts did was an easily detected vote. Dracko has never had any problems on here and I believe he likely let the desire to succeed overcome his sensibilities. There is no lesson to be learned from having everything on this site taken from him. He messed up and accepts some degree of blame, but even if it truly wasn't his own doing he still has invalid votes that when removed put his score lower than C3's so he would still lose. Either way it illustrates the value of letting your artwork stand on it's own instead of encouraging vote brigading or manipulating votes with extra accounts to win, and I think that's the message that people should take away from this. That said, we're still discussing any further action to be taken in the bat cave. I do not believe the "relatives" story, as the evidence we have do not logically line up with those claims made, but that still doesn't change my position.

Additionally we're already working on setting a restriction on RHG voting, however it may end up being delayed until the new RHG system is complete. In which case we will be monitoring votes carefully until then.

Yes, we will leave the circumstances behind dracko's multi-ing to you guys. I also think he shouldn't be banned if he was just using it for that. Although I have to point out a seemingly-similar case happened not too long ago with a blatant attempt in the WL when someone pretended to be 4 people at once. I couldn't help but think if all you needed to do was legit say that the 4 of you isn't the 4 of you, then that would mean that it is now a slap on the wrist. That WL guy was an idiot and couldn't defend himself and dracko's just using a shady loophole, but what if one day someone decides to use this and legit deceives us knowing fully well how to exploit it.

I guess I'm just worried and I hope nobody else takes from this and starts to think that brigading is a legit tactic now.

Btw as long as you guys are noting incidents like this and showing plans to improve the system accordingly, we're fine with that.

Luckly Jeff has ways to proove if someone is legit multiaccounting. There's a different between your "current IP" and your "registration IP". And I think thay ny using other means he can also know if someone is lying about the "hey my mom made this account not me"-story. I guess that until the new RHG system is up we'll just have to monitor the votes more closely. And I do encourage people to let the mods know if they think something is fishy, if they don't want to do it public, they can always PM a mod.

Glad it's all sorted out ok in the end. With the restricting voting, you could do with a method that makes such workarounds standout. e.g. the user must have shown atleast forum activity in the preceding 2 months or user has posted so many times. It could even be a comment is required before a vote can be placed. Basically some way of making the pattern clearer for mods and users to notice.
