It's a simple design really. It looks alright I guess. Simple enough to be animated.
The line art looks a bit wonky, random thickness all over. Try to utilize line thickness for a purpose. For example to aid with foreshortening, or to give something a certain "intensity". It's difficult to explain. I think you should try to look at manga, who's drawing style heavily depends on line thickness variation. Another step you can use is ditching flash if you want to draw. It's not exactly the greatest drawing tool out there. I'd recommend you paint tool SAI.
The colors are ok, but they lack contrast and are somehow inconsistent. The shadows are barely visible, while the highlights and drop shadow are really strong. Study some color theory and basics of light and shade.
I like the way the smoke looks like but the shading is also inconsistent with the light source, which seems to be coming from the top left. The smoke is instead lighter at the bottom and darker at the top.
