Last monday, Skye Boyes, founder of XGenStudios, passed away. I do not know just how close the ties between this community and XGen are, but his contributions have affected the entire flash community, you all included. Without him, XGen, NewCiv, and probably a good few more online-communities would not exist. He made more than games, he made a place where many have learned, laughed, and had fun. For that we owe him our respects. A more proper tribute from his good friend Jordan is linked below.

XGen... isn't that Stick Arena? and like Stick RPG and such right? Those were pretty good back in the day. Sorry to hear he's passed.

I thought so to. Wow, it's like this year is the year a lot of internet people die. The guy who did Team Fabulous 2 died sometime before/after Monty Oum died.

Is this a sign?

Jeff mentioned yesterday on IRC.
At first I did not know at all who Skye was, But when he sent the link of Xgen Studios it kinda reminded me of something.
Although I never knew him until now I feel like this guy and his team influenced my childhood alot since games such as defend your castle and stick rpg were part of it.
May Skye rest in peace ;u;

That we should create a kickstarter to build a personal bomb shelter for Terk?
Maybe.

In all seriousness, it's really sad to see the guy who made those things go, even if I didn't know he was the one who had done them. Kind of a wake up call that the internet is getting older than we generally think of it.

Looking at Skye's site again, after all these years, he's like a counterpart to Crazy Jay.

I tried looking around, I found no causes but according to his dedication page, he died peacefully.

As far as I know his life expectancy is 2-3 years but thats based off of the people who usually get his kind of cancer are Older people so he said that maybe in the next decade or so there might be treatment
Still very sad of a thing since he has been a decent part of le gaming community.
