I can accept life stuff if they tell me. 2Lazy is sometimes, inexcusable.

I think a few people talked about that earlier. With 2-week rounds this tournament is already going to span the better part of a year. Rather than catering to people who can't be bothered to write 1000-5000 words in half a month, they just shouldn't join a tournament if they don't even want to write anything.

If the deadline was 3 weeks, they'd just procrastinate for 2.9 weeks instead of 1.9.

I'd like to give a suggestion: point bonus. 2 extra points for 1-week work, none for on time and 2 penalty points for 1-week late work. Two week, forfeit.

And if you want an excuse, Error, I have finals tomorrow. Two.

Why didn't you say so? Or at least tell me something important came up, no need to be specific if its personal.

I guess you were studying before?

Since I'm graduating, all my finals were a week early, i.e from December 1st - December 4. Consequently, my entry is pretty shite. But hey, at least its on time. You've got to create time

People are bastards when it comes to deadlines. If only we could have people work like it's last-minute when it isn't?

Update:

I'll be rematching TheOrganization with Devour. The rest have promised within the next day or so and Richard said he'd wait for GT.

_Ai_ has taken the place of Veir for the next round.

I agree with everything but 2 extra points for 1 week. This is because you could technically concoct an absolute piece of shit that goes with a challenge in a week, and end up at the least with 6 points, above a person who rightfully won and decided against a challenge.

Basically, a penalty for late works. I can agree to that. Rally the rest if you can to say here if they agree. I can't get on Skype atm.

EDIT:

Wait a moe, we have that already. Two weeks is auto-forfeit without saying and I already implemented the -2 points for being late. LOL.

It's complicated and unnecessary.

This should be an exception, not a rule. If you want to set up a system that might rule in your favor based on your lifestyle, it's not going to be fair for all the others who signed up with the default rules in mind. If you have life stuff, you make time. If the 2 are irreconcilable, you ask Error for advise and its his decision what happens to you. This isn't just about you and your work; other people have it at stake too.

Yknow I said I could wait, but that was only when I thought they would be a day or two late. This is getting kind of ridiculous.

I don't think you should get a bonus for submitting earlier than the deadline. People plan toward the deadline, some people are slow writers. Rewarding someone who finishes well before the deadline is penalizing those who did what they where supposed to do.

I think the penalty on late entries should be no increase on the voting period, so that the entire tourney isn't halted. i.e. Deadline on Dec 5, voting finishes on Dec 12, so that we can keep it moving.

Rematch those who are completed and supplement the odd one out if it comes to that. Possibly (3-5) per day they aren't matched up. Granted they get something like a bye, but if you rotate between those who turn in on time, then it won't be as unfair.
