Pixel Dreams
Pixel Dreams and 8-bit themes
Monochrome landscapes and daring escapes
If only life were like a video game
Nothing would be the same
Pastel hues or neon blues
Never get bored, until someone pulls the chord
Escape from reality
Dive into fantasy
Too bad it’s not real
One must always pause and return to life
Can’t button mash your way through strife
Pixel dreams and 8-bit themes
Worlds of wonder, worlds so new
But the sun has come up
There’s morning dew
The games is done
Time to play the real one

Champagne Colored Skies
Champagne colored skies and diamond filled eyes
Ruby lips and wine colored hearts
Pearls laced around the necks of beautiful women
These are the dreams of the poor when really,
We’re stuck with rusty souls full of greed and corruption
Not as though those of our dreams in reality are any better
How else did they get there?
Champagne colored skies and diamond filled eyes
Ruby lips and wine colored hearts
Pearls laced around the necks of beautiful women
These are the dreams of the poor when really,
We’re stuck with rusty souls full of greed and corruption
Not as though those of our dreams in reality are any better
How else did they get there?

Not sure what "champagne colored skies" is supposed to mean? And using "wine" after "champagne" makes the poem seem like it lacks vocabulary.
I also don't get the message. If I got it right, then the poem means poor people want to be rich, but the poor are greedy and corrupt. But then so are the rich, which is why they're rich. It doesn't really make sense to me.

Thanks for the feedback. You're right, it is a poem about the rich and the poor, but I guess it could be more thought out.
thank you! I'll check out your poems right now!
