wears a long-sleeved navy t-shirt, high waist black trousers with suspenders, military combat boots and a heavily patched up and mended tan trench coat with inside pockets
straight golden brown hair down to the middle of her back (usually ties it back in a low ponytail during combat)

l and innocent nonchalance to most people including her allies. When acting like this, the only indicator she gives to her mood is in what she says; she tends to be more sarcastic if she is irritated and becomes more morbid when depressed. Her speech in general also tends to become a lot more eloquent. However, the more trust a person earns from her, the more she reveals of her true personality.
She quickly snaps into rage-induced violence if her friends have been threatened and will do all that she can to save them.
The trauma in her past has strengthened her mind enough to able to subconsciously block most of her childhood memories as well as any invasive mental attacks. This barricade though does allow some telepathic communication.
Despite her seemingly uncaring attitude, she is very hesitant when it comes to killing others and will only do so if she believes the person to be beyond hope of redemption.
Since she already understands her own limits and weaknesses, she will admit defeat once her powers, skills, and weapons have been overcome.

Personality:
She is very emotional and displays it very easily.
She is very kind, generous, and polite to most people.
She tends to think of things in a more pragmatic manner.
She is extremely intelligent and excels in observation and analysis.
She comes across as fairly stubborn and loyal to her friends.
pact to her body, store most of the energy from each impact, and then use it to enhance her physical attributes. This has made her body quite durable.

Mixed Martial Arts:
She has been taught several techniques from various sources that she has combined to create a fighting style that makes use of her ability.

Semi-Automatic Pistols:
Before she joined RHG, she taught herself how to use these guns with deadly accuracy. She carries 2 fully loaded ones in the outside pockets of her coat as well as 2 spares and extra ammunition in the inside pockets.

Tactics:
She tries to get as much information as she can about her opponent before a fight. She then goes through an experimental process to deduce what limits and weaknesses they have so that she can take advantage of them as quickly as she can. She also takes into account the environment and objects around her to see if they are useful in her strategy. While she does this, she does her best to keep enough energy to defeat her enemy by making sure her opponent can easily attack her. Usually, this is done through either trickery or provocation. When she feels she might overload from the amount of energy she has in her, she either tries to avoid any more hits to her body or lets it out through hitting her opponent back or running it out.
Spoiler (Click to Show)
she can get quite reckless and even put herself into life-threatening situations in order to save her friends.
When others use telepathy to communicate with her, it can occasionally cause temporary recall of her memories, which in turn triggers uncontrollable shaking, continuous sobbing, and fear-induced paralyzation.

Impact Absorption:
Her power is limited to projectiles, contact weapons, and physical attacks. Also, she can still feel the pain from each impact, though years of training has helped her to develop an extremely high pain tolerance.
The more energy she holds, the more pressure it puts upon the inside of her body until (she theorizes) it causes her body to explode internally. However if she uses up too much of her energy, she could collapse from exhaustion and render her nearly immobile.
She is only able to enhance 3 of her physical attributes: strength, speed and endurance. She can use only one at a time though she can change almost instantaneously between them.

Mixed Martial Arts:
Her style requires her to be close to her opponent in order to be effective.
Her style also leaves a lot of openings for her opponent to take advantage of.

Semi-Automatic Pistols:
She only uses them as a last resort since she hasn’t learned how to use them quickly enough.

Tactics:
She tends to be a bit over cautious when it comes to tactics, sometimes pulling away too early or attacking her enemy a bit too late.

There’s nothing. Again. After three months in this town, I’ve found...absolutely...nothing…

Silently swearing to herself, Feather slammed her tightly clenched fist against her desk, her laptop shifting slightly as she did so. All this time she had spent searching for Dmitri...it seemed such a waste. No matter how many places went to and how long she stayed there, the results from her search, or lack thereof, were always the same. All it did give her was more frustration and anger at these failures.

I just...I just want him back...safe and sound. Is that really too much to ask for? As she placed her head on the desk’s wooden surface, tears began to trickle down her cheeks. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting her thoughts of desperation and concern for Dmitri fill her mind. As she let herself cry, her expression gradually changed into one of calm introspection.

Then slowly, Feather sat upright, reached her hands into her coat, and pulled out what looked to be a bus ticket. While she examined it, she sat up in her chair, brows furrowed in determination. Well, I can’t stop now. If I want to find him, I’d better keep on going until the end! Rock Hard City, let’s hope you have something in store for me this time…

Despite the fact it only took two hours of her morning to pack everything, the sun was already beginning to set by the time she stepped off the bus onto the sidewalks of Rock Hard City. From she had seen on the map, it had changed quite a bit since the last time she went through here with Dmitri. She could see several new office buildings dominating the downtown as well as a glimpse of what she believed to be some kind of stadium, its steel frame gleaming in the twilight rays. Well---she chuckled as she picked up her purse, gym bag, and backpack---at least I don’t have to go to the Providence HQ with Dmitri to do paperwork again. She began to smirk as the memories began to flood in. He would always grumble about how it was such a waste of time, that he could be doing something more useful with his time---she glanced at a map of the city before walking towards the downtown area---but then, he always complained about doing any sort of tedious tasks. Certainly taught me how to ig---

For a split second, she noticed out of the corner of her eye that her purse was slowly being pulled off of her from behind. Instinctively, she spun around, landed a punch to the solar plexus, and then grabbing the mugger’s shoulders, hit him in the groin with her knee. The man quickly dropped to the ground, wheezing and curling up in pain. She gave a sheepish grin at the sight before saying, “I’m sorry about having to do that but I do believe you have something that belongs to me. Now if you don’t mind, I’ll be taking that”---she grabbed the purse lying beside him---“and I’ll be on my merry way. Have a good evening!” She flashed a bright smile before turning to walk away towards her destination. Well...the crime here seems to have gotten worse than before...I’ll need to be more careful next time...

There was only one thought that was going through the mugger’s head at the time: Not...taking...strange deals...from...strange people...ever...again!

The tapping on Feather’s keyboard and the occasional mouse clicking was the only thing that filled up the silence of her tiny, run-down motel room. She didn’t really enjoy the space that she was in, but she kept reminding herself that this was the cheapest housing option she could find until she found a decent job. That shouldn’t be too much of a problem getting in a large city like this, but---she looked at the clock, which depicted 10:56 PM, and sighed in exhaustion---considering how long I’ve been doing it, it might be best to start getting ready for bed. Leaving her laptop on, she got up from the creaky chair and old desk, stretching her arms before heading towards the bathroom.

It had just turned 11:10 PM before she came out in a loose cotton t-shirt and sweatpants, still combing her glistening hair. She threw her hair brush back onto the counter before turning her attention back towards her laptop. Her gaze focused on a little slew of pop-up ads that had appeared on her screen in her absence; her eyes narrowed in irritation and sat back down in the chair. Oh come on! I thought I had disabled these things long ago! The connection here must be too---

A loud ringing resounded throughout the little room, momentarily startling her from her work. Huh?!? Who would be calling at this hour? She abandoned her computer and headed towards the source of the sound: her motel room telephone. Gingerly picking up the phone, she said politely, “Hello, may I ask who this is?”

A feminine voice at the end seemed to give an exasperated sigh of relief before grumbling, “Finally! I was wondering when this hunk of junk was gonna connect!” A distinct metallic thunk was heard in the background followed by a faint string of expletives. For a brief moment, Feather wondered why she decided to answer the phone at all. But curiosity about the identity of this unknown woman got the better of her and Feather loudly cleared her throat to get back the woman’s attention.

“This darn thing...Oh! Sorry about that. Didn’t mean to...uh...ramble on back there. So…”---she breathed in and out a few times to calm herself---“all right, have you got any pop-ups on your screen yet?”

Silence permeated the room as Feather started to debate whether she should start accusing this person of intruding on her private life or just put down the phone and go about her own business. Her finger began to hover over the button marked ‘End Call’.

“Look, I know I sound creepy, but don’t hang up just yet. I really don’t have much time to work with right now, so can you please try to answer my question? It’s kind of important...”

Okay...what in the world is this lady trying to get at?!? Feather hesitantly replied, “Do you really expect me to do that when you haven’t even answered one of my own?”

The woman’s voice took on a more sarcastic tone as she spoke, “Oh really? Do you think it’s going to be that much of an issue?”

Silence.

A low growl could be heard before she continued, “Fine...call me...Owl, I guess...It doesn’t really matter for me at this point…”

Strangely, Feather couldn’t help but grin at her griping. For a moment there, you sure sounded a lot like Dmitri when he did the same th---

“You know what? Forget the question, I’m just gonna cut to the chase here: there should be something there on your screen that asks you if you want to join the Rock Hard Gladiator program, a fighting tournament system where you get to go against others in order to become the best fighter. I want you to go to that ad and click on it. It should take you to a website made by the company who owns the program. Then I want you to read the section on how to sign up for it and then go and sign up for the RHG, which should be in the office building nearest that huge stadium downtown.

“Now, it can get brutal and quite bloody at times, even though the rules don’t allow killing your opponent during the course of any battle. But, if I remember correctly, you’ve had enough training and experience in combat, so

Telepathy should be a skill, you mention it as weakness. Aside from that it looks fine to me.
Add Six to your hit list, she's in my sig.

Oh, I didn't explain that part there correctly. Let me fix that...

There! I didn't mean for it to sound like my character had telepathy. My bad :P

EDIT: Put ya on the hitlist ;)

Well now that we're most likely throwing down, I'll just being it here, but don't have much time this week but would be fine with beginning next week. We can still plan stuff out between me and you though, and I don't see anything wrong with research, so feel free to shoot me any questions about my guy

Any chance you can PM me a little about Owl's motives? Ultimately, I just want to know if Serif being from an unheard of land with a magical talismon would make him a person of interest for her

Nice Character. I like her abilities, because they seem to be relatively simple but interesting and powerful.

But what does it mean when she absorbs the impact of an attack? Does it make the attack useless and grant her energy or does her body respond to an attack like it normally would (apart from her toughness and pain-resistence) and then generate energy off the hit it took?

Examples:
1. Someone slashes at her with a sword. Will she get cut and if yes, does it cut her to the same degree it would cut a regular person?
2. Someone punches her so hard that it should sent her hurling through the air. Would she get knocked off the ground or just remain where she is because the impact is getting absorbed?

There is also no rule against killing your opponent in an RHG or wRHG. Most people choose not to kill since they're nice guys or have nice guy characters, but there is noting wrong with killing your opponent's gladiator.
For me as an example it's kill or being killed in every of my battles since my gladiator is evil.

Welcome to the wonderful world of bloody combat between hobby authors and their fantastic fucked up gladiators. Grab your jar of cookies, you'll need it.

EDIT: One more question: Why is everyone talking about telepathy? I didn't find it anywhere on Feather's profile?

Thank you, I was trying to go for that when I thought of this character. :)

But what does it mean when she absorbs the impact of an attack? Does it make the attack useless and grant her energy or does her body respond to an attack like it normally would (apart from her toughness and pain-resistence) and then generate energy off the hit it took?

Well, I probably need to fix this in my profile, but her body is not so efficient at absorbing energy to the point of making any attack against her completely useless. She still can take damage but it's very minimal.
For example, slashing at her with a sword may give her a scratch or a very shallow cut at the most, similar to a paper cut.
As for extremely powerful punches, she may stagger back or fall down depending on the force of the punch, but she won't go flying back like what might normally happen with those kinds of punches. All she might get from this are a couple of nasty-looking bruises.

There is also no rule against killing your opponent in an RHG or wRHG. Most people choose not to kill since they're nice guys or have nice guy characters, but there is noting wrong with killing your opponent's gladiator.

Well, I know I said in the story that you can't kill your opponent during the course of a fight, but I never mentioned about whether one can injure your opponent so severely that they die after the battle has officially finished. That's one of the loopholes in that rule that can be (and will be) exploited, so technically you can still die in an wRHG in my story. Lucky you, eh?

EDIT: One more question: Why is everyone talking about telepathy? I didn't find it anywhere on Feather's profile?

Actually, I did put in the Pyschology section that Feather's mind is resistant to invasive mental attacks and it just so happens that Dezi, like Rage said:

So, that was what the big hullabaloo was about. Did I get everything there?

EDIT: There. Fixed it. Sort of.
