Sitting in the garage with rest of the Tech. Club, Chi laboriously worked on her robot. As much as she hated to admit it, she really could use additional pair of hands to help. But nor Pascale, nor anyone else that she knew was around, leaving only her, and Aiko.
Even though she tried to salvage some use-ready parts, she still had to cut plenty of metal, which was not an easy - or safe - job for her at all. Actually...in theory, she shouldn't even get close to most of the tools that were there... But her stubbornness, few tricks, and Aiko's guidance eventually lead to getting the whole robot's frame done, just with a small cut on Chi's finger. Well...it wasn't completely finished, there was still one more thing that had to be done, and was way beyond Chi. However, not in a physical way.
Gritting her teeth, she approached some other student, that was working next to her. Putting a charming, yet quite fake smile on, she asked.
"Hey, uh...Could you help me a little? I need to weld this whole thing, but my hands are like, really shaky...and i don't want to mess it up..."
You really couldn't come up with something better than this?
The boy rose his head from above his project and looked at Chi from head to toes, slightly frowning. "Yeah...sure...just..." He grabbed a mask, and put it on, heading to Chi's workbench. She immediately began to back off, and leaned against a table, in almost other corner of the garage.
He was just about to start welding, when the boy noticed how far away Chi is. "What are you doing...?" His frown deepened.
"Oh you know, sparks and what not...i also don't have a mask..." It started to be really hard for her, to keep her smile on.
"You just...sat...right next to one..."
"..." Thanks to Aiko's quick reaction, Chi localized the mask that was laying just by her right hand, and put it on. "...Thanks..." With tentative steps, she got closer to the workbench.
The student slightly shook his head, pulled his mask down, turned on the blowtorch, and began welding.
Right now, Chi was actually glad that there was something, that covered her face. She couldn't keep her smile for any longer, and instead, an expression of sheer panic and anxiety took its place. She just wanted for the club to be over already, so that she could leave...
