Is SE dying?

So I was writing something as a reply, and got way caught up in it, so instead I've decided to make a thread out of it.

Basically, SE lately has been becoming a more 'toxic' game, and is in a way, stuck within itself, almost shrinking. Below is something I was writing, and will now finish writing. This is all my thoughts on where SE is going, and my opinion, I'd love to hear your side of thoughts as a reply, enjoy! :)

(my reply) "Its almost funny hearing you say that. SE is just a flash game with a lucky update once every eon or so. You'd think cj would focus a little more on the aspect of the in game stuff, seeing how the game probably pays his bills, but once the fire really sets in it'll be a little late. People like alternetmark the allah family etc... Infest the game with disgusting toxins that other games have sadly fallen into, and I fear SE is going to be an inevitable companion of these games as it is on the down slope already.

The game is better then what it is, almost like its stuck in itself, being harassed by its recent bombardments of in game toxicity of 'shall we say' (the internet). What makes a game good is how it's treated, not how many numbers it has, and frankly, SE is a game people would leave and feel only so sorry about. Stick Empires has what probably couldn't be better said, 'potential', and what also probably couldn't be said better is that it's unchecked, untouched potential that is swinging into the nearly infinite criticism of the players, worst of all, its own self. SE is much like other games, and arguably better, that is if it gets more update attention. SE has a strong community with many clans, that many games don't have, but all too much now players are taking breaks from SE, some quitting. You have to realize, an untouched game falls. SE is a lone flash game, with bad servers, many toxic players and so forth. The only thing keeping it up is the community that is still around. If a whole clan left SE, or more or less, you have to realize what would happen to Stick Empires. SE is not totally a left alone game, there is in fact still activity, but not enough, is SE as we know it, dying? Is it falling into the dark corner that almost all old games go to?"

So yeah that is my way too long thoughts on Stick Empires current position, it really doesn't make that much sense, but I think I may have a word or two of truth about how SE isn't doing so good. Whatcha guys think?

Could you try to not like... be so philosophically ambiguous?

My own personal thoughts:

Every game, no matter how popular, has its inevitable end. Although you can work on it to prevent it from dying out for longer, it will eventually go inactive then shut down. Stick Empires is no exception. However, by the neglect of updates only fastened that process.

I was given a rough estimate that SE pays for 1 employee. There are 3.

SE will be getting a few months of much needed attention in a couple of months most likely. I think after "Crown of Innamorta" comes out, the devs will be able to put all their time and energy into SE for a little bit, since the Crown of Innamorta has a different playthrough every time (in theory), it will keep players who ask for more levels (yes there has been a ton) on lockdown for quite some time. I think there are like 10x more players playing Legacy than SE atm, so naturally that would be catered first.

Game servers were updated recently, any lag is most likely your fault or your opponents fault, stop bitching. :^)

SE has been 'dying' for over a year, right? People are still playing it so clearly something is still keeping hold of players.

Xaemon I'm not so sure. Riot Games have taken the idea of a forever evolving game and really gone far with it. As long as the game progressess I think it potentially has an unlimited lifespan.

Well, I wouldn't say I am 'bitching' over it or going crazy over it. This is just some of my thoughts that could relate to the situation SE is currently in.

And yes, Skele could be right saying

Bigger games today may not be in their prime anymore, but some games just haven't stopped pushing.
Perhaps we are just seeing Stick Empires fall out of its prime, rather then falling into its doom, That would make more sense.

It's prime was beta. SE fell out of it's prime a long time ago.

I agree with Ai. The beta and Alpha times were the best times. After that it started and is still becoming Shit. If players have to point out flaws without the creators even recognizing them, then it is fall. I still love the game, in fact it's my favorite game but I'd really like to start seeing CJ and Brock actually reading out posts and out PM's and then improving thing's from there.

The devs being aware is not the issue. The issue is they are doing nothing to fix their own game, it is literally rotting.

SE will one day be a game where people would be like "hey remember that game" "oh yeah, it was fun" "let's play"

and then they'll leave again after 10-20 games. Heck, it's already happening.

Eh. Hopefully SE can survive for like a few more months before reinforcements arrive. Or some ambush shit like that.
