A while ago I asked the chat thread if anyone would take part in a Smite-centered thread and I think I got enough attention to warrant one so here it is. This thread is for general Smite discussion and along with finding people to queue with. I can also keep a list of people's IGNs regions and main roles here so that people can find friends to squad with easily. If you want to be on the list just leave your name region and main role (mid, supp, etc.) in this thread and I'll add it.

So I'll start off. What do you guys think of season 3 so far? I think the new actives are pretty disappointing compared to what we used to have. Tier 3 Aegis was objectively better than sanctuary and the cdr that beads gave came in pretty useful for extended skill chains on gods like Tyr. Also the longer cooldown on purification and the lack of combat blink leave gods like Odin, Ares and Xing Tian extremely powerful in my opinion.
Also RIP old Greater blink. 40 second cooldown OP.Creepin_Bro2Posts: 757

View Profile I'm still a noob
(as in a only-played-tutorial-and-1-arena-match noob)
But later today I'll find my info and join this list
(Oh and sry that this went un-commented for 4 days, that kinda sucks)

Smite is meh. If I played it, I'll probably be terrible due to the shift of perspective.
Plus the fact on how all the gods are making me confused.

I prefer smite for its perspective, because it makes you feel more like your the character than League or Dota
(I don't really care for League or Dota, but i never really played more than the tutorial, some one let me know if its really worth trying again)
(i do know they're ultra popular)

The third person perspective is more immersive, as Creepin_Bro said. Since you can only see ahead of you, you actually have to reorient yourself to verify what's going on around you. When you hear the sound of an enemy you start to act cautiously because you're not exactly sure where they'll come from. Ganks actually seem like a surprise because you don't know they're happening until they've already started (assuming you didn't have wards to warn you). I like it better because it promotes more active awareness of your surrounding and communication with your team (because you can't just move the camera over to them to see what they're up to). The top-down view does make more sense in league though, considering the lore of you being a summoner commanding some dude.

I guess that's reasonable.
I've only seen a bit of smite though.
Better fanbase? Are they toxic?

View Profile Well obviously there's gonna be some toxicity. That's just the nature of a PvP game. When you are the sole reason that your team is losing because of extreme throws and misplays you're gonna get flamed. Same thing with League. I can't really speak on the community relative to League's though because I haven't played League seriously in a loooong time. And even then I only played to level 26.

View Profile I can't right now. The Due date for BSE is almost here and I'm rushing to get something in on time. But gimme your IGN and we can play sometime (preferrably on the weekend).
[EDIT] Well I guess you don't want to anymore. Hmu if you change your mind.
