Finding Dory was depressing af. I want to watch the Happy Tree Friends movie, Storks, Star Trek Beyond, and Secret Life of Pets. Zootopia was boring.

I watched Donnie Darko quite recently. I liked it, but it left me thinking. Personally speaking, it's not really a movie you can understand your first time through, and it's likely that you'll have to refer to an outside source to really comprehend what the fuck is going on. If you have to do that, is it that fault of the movie for making the plot too convoluted to understand, or is the blame on the viewer for not comprehending the movie correctly the first time?

Either way, it was enjoyable. Haven't watched a movie like that for a long time.

The last I've watched was Zootopia. A pretty great movie with some thought put into it. I like the message that everyone should have equal opportunities even if there are limitations. However the limitations part wasn't as much fleshed out which is a little gripe I have with movie but still, great movie. I'm now planning to watch Sin City and Kung Fu Panda 3.

Titanic was boring too. Not really into romance and all that. I'll talk about why I don't really like Zootopia another time.

I recently revisited the entire starwars series and saw things very differently than before. I'll try to go over some of what I observed and felt with as minimal spoilers as possible.

1 phantom menace: Midi-chlorians, all CG war scenes, jar-jar binks? The acting and the charm of the original trilogy is mostly gone here. At least the pod racing sequences are good. They should have kept Darth Maul around after killing Quigon Jinn so that his villainy could be built up for more than one film, making him being struck down by Obiwan feel even more impactful. But then this movie would have nothing exciting about it aside from the over edited pod racer sequences. We can just watch baffled as Padmay and her subjects fail to deliver dialogue with even the slightest trace of emotion. Worst film out of them all.

2 attack of the clones: Someone call the police on Obiwan, for running away with this whole goddamn movie. It becomes abundantly clear from the scene where he jumps through a millionth floor window and grabs onto a drone and initiates the chase sequence that this dudes balls of steel have balls of steel. Admittedly the chase sequence is well too long for something that amounts to "we found a dart" but at least we're back to Jedi, the force and some sweet action like Obiwan vs Jango. If only they could use the force to fix this awful romantic writing and to prevent Natalie Portman from blowing damn near every line of dialogue that comes out of her fucking mouth. Why is Anakin a creepy mouth breather? There's no chemistry between the two romance characters AH!

3 Revenge of the sith: Now we're cooking with some oil. This movie is genuinely good, that's probably because they keep our exposure to Natalie Portman and her insane ability to deliver lines emotionlessly and with such an utter lack of sincerity, to a nice minimum. You've got like 3-4 storylines all wrapping up at once, most of which you might actually give a legitimate fuck about. Lightsaber duels, space battles, droids and the force. It's starwars and in my opinion the best of the prequels. And you've got that fucking epic scene where Obiwan legit defeats Anakin, god Obiwan is badass in this trilogy.

Prequels acting continued: Natalie Portman can take a leap into the bowels of a volcano please. I realized a lot of the acrimony I felt and Hayden Christensen received from these films might not be totally deserved. I was really paying attention on this watch through and noticed, I usually hated the acting whenever Natalie Portman stepped into the shot. That's not to say Hayden Christensen did a perfect job, but he was brooding, upset and immature, in my opinion that's him working with the character that was written for him. While Natalie Portman showed me that she is some sort of hypothetical, un-feeling, anti-actor. Making the romance in these films probably the most cringeworthy of all time.

4 a new motherfuckin' hope: Quintessential starwars right here. There is so much charm in this film, from the opening action sequence to the beautiful shots of some distant place and the obvious care and effort that went into the designing of all the non-CG props and sets they used. Admittedly the visuals have aged, but the sound design in this film is fucking timeless, nothing short of profound. This might not be the biggest film in the series, but it can feel that way when you realize that all of this had never been done before episode 4 a new motherfuckin' hope. This movie speaks to my soul.

5 Empire strikes back: Holy shit. Buckle up and crank your action dial up to 11, because boy does the Empire ever strike back in this film. Watch as our beloved characters get themselves into situations they can't get themselves out of and then they get out of it. Not a perfect film admittedly, I thought Han Solo meeting Lando was a little awkward at first, which was eventually buffed out in the next film and plenty of the visuals it stood on are now beneath our current standards. But who can forget one of the all time great plot twists and Luke getting himself into a battle against Vader that he can't possibly win? Great movie, most peoples favorite.

6 Return of the Jedi: This movie is about the force. That scene where Luke embraces his anger and lops off Vaders hand, revealing the cables and machine beneath only to realize that it's the exact same hand Vader cut off of him which is now mechanized; to make his absolution to not give in to the dark side. I still get chills from some of the scenes in this movie. Probably because the all important hero faces the big bad guy they'd been hyping up for two films. Of course the Ewoks just don't make any sense, but it's somewhat ameliorated by the killer action. I can't describe the way I feel after finishing the original trilogy, just know that once you've finished Return of the Jedi, you will probably be feeling some feels.

7 The force awakens: And the whole world took in a gasp of anticipation. "Please don't fuck this up" the whole world said under its breath and soon a sigh of relief upon realizing the truth, they didn't fuck it up. Thank god. The characters are pretty good here, bb8 is no R2D2 but the charm is still there. Kylo Ren gets a bad wrap, but the more I realize how special Darth Vader really was as a villain the more accepting of Kylo's performance I become. The action sequences are back with a fucking vengeance and they're righteous. It's a tall glass of fresh water to be seeing the Falcon in action again.
The nostalgia levels are off the charts with this one.

Jutsu, if your interested in seeing a bit more of Darth maul then I would recommend you to watch the clone wars series.

Hell, even if you aren't that interested in watching it for Maul, then I'd still recommend for you to watch it.
