Leo sighed. "Yeah you're right, but still." Leo laid down on his bed, taking off his leather jacket, tossing it on the floor next to his bed. "So, what were you up to before the grandiose announcement for your head? I can't imagine you were just standing by the building waiting for a beautiful boy like myself to show up."

Nikolai looked at him for a moment and caved, "When I was a kid, my mom used to always teach me about right from wrong," he sighed heavily, "Now that line's just a god damn blur."

Leo held up a finger to silence Nikolai. "Alright, pause. That sounds like the start of a novel. I didn't ask for your life story."
Jul 29, 2016 6:25 PM #1456181
He stared at Leo and scowled, laying down and facing the wall.

Leo sighed. "Alright, sorry, give me a summary. I can do summaries."

Nikolai was silent after; anything he was intending to say had been closed up, now. Out of the corner of Leo's eye, a black figure seemed to move in the window. When he turned to see it, however, it was gone.

Leo sighed again. He was about to lie down when something moved in the corner of his eye. He turned to see it, but it was gone. "What the fuck...?" He shook his head, and laid down, but the entire night, he kept his hand on his gun. "Goodnight, Nikki J."

"Goodnight," He replied coldly, and for some reason, he fell into a deeper sleep than normal.
His dreams were cruel, diabolical, and traumatizing: as per usual.
Only this time, it was something he had no recollection of. His entire world was black for a long time, and he looked around in confusion before color started to bleed into the landscape. Green grass matted by black spots lay underneath, surrounded by dying trees and a sky devoid of color. A large Fraysan beast stood, a syringe-like tendril stabbing into a male and causing him to fall to the ground. Surrounding him were familiar faces from a different generation; Iris, Sebastian, Mason, even his mother. And the one on the ground?
Well, who else would it be but his father?
Somehow, he was reliving the scene of his death in his nightmares just as his mother had. The only difference was, she was there and he was not. Nikolai Jr watched as his mother held onto his father's hand, watched as Mason dragged her away kicking and screaming. He watched him put a gun to his head.
Then, everything faded away except for him, the world becoming a grey smog. Nikolai Sr. turned to his son, bloodshot eyes staring into his own, "The fight is far from over."
The sound of a gunshot rang in his ears, and then everything went pitch black.
****
Nikolai Jr. woke up with a start. Looking to his left, he noticed that Leo was up and much more alert than he was, but why? Then came that noise again; it wasn't a gunshot, rather the loud boom of something breaking through wood and concrete. It was coming from right below him. Then, silence.
Ba-Bum
Ba-Bum
BOOM
The monstrosity jumped through the floor and bed, tackling Nikki J through the wall and into Mercy and Elyss' adjacent room. The beast stood, stomping once and roaring as Nikolai Jr. rolled backward until the back of his head smacked against Elyss' bed. "Guess a 'hello' wouldn't have worked as well."

Leo had woken up from a nightmare of his own. The day his father was killed. The words "Make me proud" rang through his head as he opened his eyes. He decided not to go back to sleep. He put his jacket back on and grabbed his sword and put it on his back. He sat back on his bed and watched for any movement.
Nikki J woke up and that's when shit hit the fan. A berserker burst from the ground and tackled Nikolai into the next room. Leo Jumped off the bed. "Well good morning to you too," he muttered. He ran over and pointed his pistol at the beast, aiming for the head and took the shot.

Edon had drank until he passed out, a clever cure for insomnia. And the dreams weren't so bad either.
He shot awake at the sudden burst of activity. Grabbing his shotgun, the drunkard rushed to the scene and opened fire on the beast. "The stomach!" He shouted.

Mercy slept on her back, with her mouth wide open, right leg and arm hanging off the bed, she seemed to slightly smile even when asleep. That was until 'exploding' wall flipped her bed upside down, knocking her off, and turning the room into debris. "Oh what the...Don't you guys know you're supposed to-!" Rubbing the back of her head with one hand, and waving off dust with the other, she got up on her legs and opened her eyes. "...knock..."
Since her brain was still numb after rock-like sleep, it took her a longer while to realize what she was looking at. When it finally hit her, her right forearm immediately opened, and her hand was 'pulled' inside, to moment later reconstruct the whole forearm into a thick, barrel-like cannon. [OOC: Think: Megaman] After short power-up, a big blue sphere was released with great speed. Mercy's intention was just to hit the monster in general, as she didn't have too much time to aim up, since she tried to dash to the door in the meantime. Once this thing figures out its new surroundings, this room will be way too small for all of them to fight in. If she was to reach the doorway safely, she'd keep shooting the heavy pellets from there, trying to draw Berserk's attention and lure him out to more open area.

OOC: the following post is from Boomerang.
It was ironic how Edons hit was the only one that caused the beast any pain.
Leo's shot to the back of the berserkers head did nothing as it bounced off of the armored skin like nothing. Mercys shot did send the beast against the wall from the pure shockwave, although it hit an armored shoulder. The berserker was dazed enough for edon to run in and shoot the stomach with surprising accuracy. The berserker roared as black blood spurted from a few small holes in the stomach.
Nikolai Jr. Looked at those holes. He smirked: an opening.
The berserker, now deeply angered with the old man, ran toward him and sliced downward. Nikolai quickly tackled him out of the way before he could react, the claws slashing his trench coat. Nikolai's father had put metal in that trench coat long ago, however, and it paid off when the claws simply ripped the fabric and scratched the metal underneath.
"And Leo tried to tell me to take it off," he sneered, feeling his waist and grabbing a revolver. He shot it once toward the beasts stomach, but it deflected with its armored hand. The resulting explosion, however, sent the berserker once more skidding backward.
He turned to edon, "you good?" He thought for a moment, "of course you're good"
He stood up, "Alright, you heard the old man. The stomach is its weak point! Mercy, keep leading it out into the open--and Leo, find my machete"
Meanwhile, Jett heard the commotion and knocked on every door screaming "GET UP GET UP GET UP," he then ran outside and knocked on Orwell's husk, "Berserker in the bar, EMERGENCY"

Edon grunted as he was tackled away from the beast's attack.
He glanced up at Nikolai, nodding briefly. The old man was winded; his shotgun fell from his hands after the impact. Drawing his pistol, he prepared to open fire if any member of the team needed assistance.

Yogi was wandering upstairs for something to clean, before stopping at the Berserker.
He was unfazed, and stayed in the same position, mop casually laid over his shoulder, his left hand clenching the bucket, as if he wanted the beast to come at him.
Behind his smile, however, was a demonic glare.

Obelisk's engine roared to life as Edward hooked himself up. "Orwell smash through the door." He commanded.
"Master Edward, are you sure we should?" Orwell indicated to the motion radar, "From the readings they are still on the second floor, if we destroy the bottom, it may weaken the constructional integrity of the building."
"Well we can't help from here, your radar doesn't tell us which one is the threat, we could accidentally shoot one of them."
"Then we can do nothing but wait Master Edward." Orwell backed away from the building, the mini gun whining as it picked up speed. Edward swiped his way through different filters, trying to choose one that would allow him to assist but there was too much uncertainty and risk for him to take a shot. Orwell was right, they could only wait for the opportunity to show itself.
