So as some of you know, _Ai_ recently resigned from his moderator position. The SP team previously decided that electing another mod in his place wasn't necessary since we have several global mods and a sectional mod governing the SE forums anyway. However, none of us have actually played SE and as a result, some of you have expressed concerns and want to have a new moderator that originated from the SE section.

This thread is to gauge interest on how many of you would actually like to have a new moderator from this section or if you're just fine the way it is now.



Some things to keep note:

1. Currently, the only sectional mod in charge of this section is me, but Mantha, Devour, Exile, and Azure can also help moderate this section as well due to their position as global moderators. Additionally, we are not understaffed and we have enough moderators to appropriately handle this section.

2. Just because you want to have a moderator and voted to have one does not mean that moderator will be you. Please contribute with this thread without harboring selfish interests.

3. If we do choose to have a mod, it will most likely be done via application or through discussion among the moderators for individual choosing (while referencing some select members of the SE community). While you are free to discuss who you want to be a mod, please still vote as to what you want. The final decision will be mostly drawn from the poll results, not from the comments in this thread.

4. Whatever outcome from this thread is not final. This thread is simply to gauge interest, and the results will be discussed in the Batcave with other mods. The final decision however is up to Jeff, regardless of what the numbers of this thread may entail. Of course, that's not to say this thread doesn't matter at all, and we are very much willing to listen if the overwhelming majority suggests a new moderator. Jeff is also aware that this thread exists.

5. This poll will close after seven days.

I mean, if you got it then it's not needed, but if people beg me, I can return. LOL.
On a slightly more serious note, I have a new computer and I do plan on returning to SE, so me not being here for about a year, my opinion probably isn't so strong, but it looks like you're doing great and probably don't need the extra help (might want it though, who knows).

Wouldn't mind having tecness back honestly.

If Rain is going to be the new mod, then it will be okay

otherwise just make everything the same is fine

I secound mystery is depends who it is. I'd like a new moderator whose only job is to watch this section. Has to be neutral and just squash trouble at the source that includes all sides regardless of who they are.

If tecness is active that would be a good choice

I don't know rain but if mystery is backing him I assume he would be a good choice

I'm shocked no one has mentioned skeletalwarlord (skele) very active poster treated evreyone with respect. Seems to not get involved with these petty fights. Has a strong moral compose and tbh the only mod who has seemed to acted proper at all times when handleing the toxic environment that is SE.

We dont need an extra mod. There are litteraly few threads going on, 1 new thread per month and there are not spammers here. If SE forums were more active i would say yes, but since only 6-10 people post i say no.

I have to argree the candidates aren't appealing. But the question must be answered at face value

I personally say no. We're doing fine as it is, and if empiresma kicks up shit again when he comes back, he'll very likely just get another ban for a longer time, leaving us in peace. It's not like there are any other troublemakers here.

As long as more of you guys keep reporting rule breakers then everything should be fine.

If tecness came back, then it's fine. But I've heard people say "I'm coming back" thousands of times to then leave again after a week or two.

@Sevarus though I wouldve also suggested skele before, he's died down in activity pretty drastically in all aspects of the community.

Rains been here since the very beginning, with consistent levels of activity. Though I would actually trust everyone who posts here actively with mod position - simply because I don't imagine anyone being stupid enough to abuse it and get away with it. I think its more about thinking long term, and if so Rain has a long guarantee.

In the past under tecness it was because the section was esoteric and didn't quite adhere to the rules of the main part of the forum. Now? I don't honestly see the reasoning why we would need a mod with SE experience, let alone someone from here. I personally would trust Raptor to handle everything just fine, but again, if it were to be anyone it should be tecness.
