I think I'll go ahead and say keep Cosmic Particles as it was originally worded. I originally was confused of the difference between burning energy being permanent loss and spending being temporary loss.

I too think it should not be changed given we've all made decisions based on how it is understood already.

I still don't understand what's bad about not spending energy or spending energy. I mean, let's use me for example. I'm at 98 energy. So Cosmic says I should spend min of 80. Cool, I do that. but like, since I have 98, I'm planning on spending 98 energy. Why would I want to spend less? What's the drawback to spending all your energy or not spending enough energy? That has yet to be explained (I think...)
EDIT: When back and read the rules. So it's spending BEFORE using any toward a super power? That's interesting then, and would nerf anyone with abilities that don't have the energy cosmic requires.

I actually understood it as this when I first read it, but I deemed it would be unfair towards certain people who begin with less than 60 energy. I was frankly surprised that no one tried to outbid Nyarly for this. And now that it's like this, I would just like to go with my own definition---the one where you must spend energy of that amount---just cos the actual definition would make things less fun.
Also got this in my PM. Not sure why the PM when you can just post here so everyone can weigh in
First, why would you deliberately try to break the game at the expense of others. Second, I accept your terms. I'm making a rule to not be able to use the same powers in teh next game, and screen the abilities better if possible.
We will begin in a few hours if that will be all.

Quote from SkeletonxfI'll be honest and say I was actively looking for broken combos for Rumble and I actively bid hard onto the two I nominated to get them. I want to maximise my chance of winning and I did so accordingly.
However if Gemini Suit is infinite use and we go as currently setup then all I would have to to is use Gemini Suit repeatedly and distribute less power away from myself each time to the clone than the power strength it has that I bid for it. I could literally make energy out of nothing infinitely as long as I'm willing to type out the extremely long first round paragraph duplicating myself 100 or so times would take because Gemini Suit adds its power strength in energy to both the original and the clone producing not just a net energy gain after each use but also a net energy gain on the original hero using it.
When I first looked at Gemini Suit I thought that it meant to divide the starting energy evenly, which made this far less effective in my mind when I nominated it. After doing some math and really basic modelling I could still divide infinitely and I would end up with an infinite number of clones on 30 energy each because once I reached 30 energy I'd drop to 15 to split evenly then gain 15 from the power strength.
While I would like to be rewarded for my decision making, I feel that this ability as currently understood would literally turn the game into me versus everyone with me having a 100% chance of winning because I'd have an infinite heal with infinite uses.
To resolve this I'd like to propose that Gemini Suit be understood to activate itself only once at start game just like Sidekick and Cloned Sidekick and that thus I would have to duplicate myself further soley via Mimic and take the energy spending cost induced. My two powers in combination will still be powerful but it won't be possible for me to make an infinite number of clones of myself in just turn 1 because of Mimic's spend cost. I also feel that this understanding of the power makes a little more sense than as an infinite use and optionally negative energy cost ability and is more in line with how it would have been understood when the person nominated it.

ffs skele. Only skele. Gratz for finding it tho.
Um, by your def tho Hewitt, the one where you must spend that amount of energy- what is the change? I thought that was cosmic particles. Unless you mean everyone gains another 10 per hero in play, which wasn't exactly voted on.
EDIT: Few hours? hype hype hype

The definition is what you assumed initially in your last post; that 60 must be spent instead of it is automatically spent before allocation
Aug 30, 2016 8:24 AM #1459274
Why wouldn't you try to break the game? Pushing the game to it's limits improves the game for everyone after you fix it.
Also Hewitt did you also accept my suggestion for inactive clones on the last page or so?

Yes. If it makes things fair, I'll allow it.
I understand the need to break teh game. Personally if this were of my own creation, I wouldn't let it happen. But since it is someone else's game, and a really old unsupported one at that, I let these things pass and do damage control later. Because there's no way I'm looking at a hundred powers and deciding which ones are just broken

So to understand what you've done skele, you made a clone of yourself with the ability to make another clone of yourself next round? Interesting.
Aug 30, 2016 1:06 PM #1459286
What I actually don't understand is why skele and the others with clones are so obsessed with cloning the clone powers, when there's a guy over there with 4 powers. And all 4 are working in perfect synergy I might add.
But it's his decision. We will now officially begin with ROUND ONE
Round 1
Players:
Nyarlathotep - 97
Cosmic Particles - Each round, every Hero must automatically spend 10 Energy per Hero in play.
Sevarus - 50
Plague - Lose 5 Energy at the end of each round. Whenever you damage another Hero, they contract a copy of Plague.
Blur - If you are Attacked and your Attack is greater than your Attackers Defense, the damage is negated.
Souleater - Gain 50 Energy whenever an opponent leaves the game.
Vampiric Bite - Whenever you damage another Hero, gain Energy equal to half of that damage (rounding down).
Tecness - 26
Tecness' Cloned Sidekick with - 50
Tecness' Cloned Sidekick's Sidekick - 50
Tecness' Sidekick - 50
===Powers===
Very Big - Any damage dealt to you is halved (rounded down).
Person McPerson - 90
Poisonous Membranes - Whenever you are Attacked, even if you defend against it, your Attacker sustains 3 Points of unavoidable damage.
WyzDM - 98
Avatar - For every 2 Points of damage you take, instead take 1 and raise the number at which you die by 1.
Skeleton - 55
Mimic - Spend X: You may use any single Power in play whose Power Strength is X, this round.
Gemini Suit (15 Power Strength) - Create a duplicate of any Hero you control, with the same Powers, except Gemini Suit. Divide the duplicated Hero's Starting Energy between the original and the duplicate Hero, and add Energy equal to Gemini Suit's Power Strength to each.
@Tecness, make a post here and tell me which power your cloned sidekick would like to have.
@Skeleton, tell me how much you're going to put into the Gemini Suit.
The rest of you, you may PM me now your attack and defense allocations and who to target. Remember, that you can attack more than 1 person at the same time as long as you have the energy for it. Also, if you're targetting a sidekick/clone, state the name as it is written up there.
PM AWAY!

20 energy into Gemini Suit's clone so by my math my original is at now at 50 energy and the clone at 35 due to the Gemini's heal for both equal to its power strength of 15.
I propose a naming scheme for myself where S is followed by a number to ID each clone. My original thus is S1 and my first clone S2.

I propose the clones vs the clones battle each other to the death and leave the rest of us to fight each other.
Aug 30, 2016 5:51 PM #1459302
I accept that proposal provided no one else attacks me.
Aug 30, 2016 6:27 PM #1459305
Hey, what order do attacks take place. All simultaneously? So we could all somehow target the same guy without knowing it?
Aug 30, 2016 6:43 PM #1459308
Given how defence can be allocated as needed I think it's all simultaneous?
