People are only allowed to have one gladiator per user. A gladiator is a character that actively fights others in stories by challenging or getting challenged by others. For example, if Shapiro decided to challenge you like he said he eventually would, you would have Steam fight
Ethernu.
You are allowed to have "NPC" characters that show up in stories, but they can't influence fights or partake in them. The NPC characters are for narrative purposes only.
Pretty much nailed it. Only thing is that we're a little less strict on the wRHG
guidelines versus the rules. The guidelines, as I understand them, are in place to keep problems from arising, whereas breaking a rule
is categorized as a problem. Doing battle with a character without anything resembling a demo would be rule-breaking (a problem by definition) whereas having another gladiator directly or indirectly change the course of a battle would be breaking guidelines, likely to
cause problems, but wouldn't necessarily be, in of itself, a problem.
For example, say I were to do battle against Veir's
Zalgo with my character,
Dante Rockwell. One subtle, indirect way of influencing the outcome of the battle would be if I were to enlist the help of someone who had previously overcome Zalgo's Fraysan Affliction- such as Alphaeus' old gladiator
Altaer, for the sole purpose of advising Dante and pointing him in the right direction, maybe helping him set up an ambush. As that would be an example of Altaer influencing the course of Dante and Zalgo's battle, that would be against guidelines. But if Veir were okay with it, Alph were okay with it, Azure okay with it, etc- then there wouldn't be a problem. If they were
not okay with it, then that
could be a problem as votes may be skewed, or my win could be called into question were I to receive it. The lines are still a little blurred where regulations are concerned.
