Nightshade: "Well, even if you take away the conviction that some may find happiness from 'evil' actions, there are also those who would find happiness in simply dying. And depending on the number of lives they touched... who knows how granting theit happiness will destroy others? Your wish seems like one that would be beneficial, but in reality, you've shown you've the most cruel heart. Abandon those who can't find happiness because of the desires of others, simply remove free will to create a 'utopia.' Those are the thoughts and actions of a tyrant, of one who believes themselves to be above all others. That is the type of ignorance that age doesn't change; only having the harshness of reality beaten into you can change that wicked view."

Cadell thought for a moment. "Dang, that does sound pretty neat. I've always loved playing those 'overlord' games as a kid. I'm guessing you're more of a tower defense guy."

Abra whistled, taking a sip of his drink. "And here everyone thought I was the psychotic one. Good god kid you just admitted to be willing to commit genocide to a disgusting degree until you're left with the percent of people that fit your ideals. There's a man who tried that already. His name was Adolf Hitler."

Cadell sighed. "Aw man. Ya know, I even went through the trouble of being nice to you people. So leme get this straight, you folks are worried your type isn't going to make in the jar? C'mon, ever heard of oatmeal cookies?"
He squinted. "Like I said, a utopia. Apparently you folks have watched too many of those movies about how most people would like to view a 'utopia' in media. Or maybe someone's been watching too much Fate/Zero. H#ll if I know. That was all in the wish anyways. All countries sacrifice certain people in order to achieve a greater goal. Going to an illogical extreme is an obsession, not a clear-minded goal. Anyone can call someone crazy on accusation of that. Besides, I think you can get your opinions across with less insults and better examples."

Tanya smiled as the discussion went on. This definitely had caught her attention. She put the glass of vodka back on the counter, next to the bottle, then turned around, directly facing Cadell.
"Then your idea is bound to fail. Hypothetically your wish comes true, and everybody lives in this utopia that you mention about. Everybody has exactly what they want. But how much do you think it'll last? It's human nature to desire more and more. Greed is hardwired into our DNA, for as mutated or diverse could it be. Even for outer beings, greed is still a present thought. Sooner or later somebody will want more than their fellow citizens, and they will try to get it. That will lead to disciplinary actions, but how much do you think you can suppress basic instincts? You stop one person. But another will take its place, followed by another, and another and so forth. Leading to chaos and destruction. War. Famine. Pestilence. Death."
She took a small pause, sipping on some whisky and lighting up a cigarette.
"You're familiar with the Horsemen? Legends say they appear in foresight of a great disaster. But after every great disaster, life always finds a way to start again from scratch. Cycle of life and death. You see, happiness is completely relative to your state of being. You have to experience sadness first, in order to then achieve and cherish happiness. You need to have the downs to appreciate the ups in life."
As she concluded her speech, she took another sip from her whisky, then smiled at Cadell.
"Oh and I'm not much older than you, so don't worry about it."

Cadell smiled. "Good to know. Keyword was 'forever,' Miss."

Dozer took his drink from Jeden and politely thanked him. He didn't drink it yet though because he didn't actually want to get the alcohol in his system until later so he could get home before passing out. Besides that, he could only shudder at what his drunk self would say and do during the questions. Instead, he just sat the glass down next to him and turned to give the man a smile.
"Thanks for helping me out Jeden. I appreciate it."
"As for you Cadell-" he turned towards the boy and pointed his pointer finger at him. "You're goal is admirable but you need to be educated on the consequences. You claim you've read many of our books but have you ever read 'Brave New World'? it contains a Utopia very much like you just described."
Without warning, he shrugged and relented. It was his wish and if wishes came true, he should be able to get his. "But it is just a wish after all and hypothetically, I assume it would come true. Just don't wipe entire people groups off the map dude. It's a very bad thing to do."

Cadell shrugged. "Again with the media and descriptions. D-man, that was all in the wish, not the realistic solution. While the wish can accomplish something beyond common sense, realistically, we have to do the best we can to save the people we can. Accepting the fact that we can't save everyone is equally important. If I wanted to realistically make a real-world utopia, I would be a lot more obsessed with the idea than I am now."

Bill claps his hands together.
Bill: "Well then! I think that is a good stopping place for our second break! This time, however, we'll be having an interesting event occur. As you may recall, earlier, I asked about your beliefs, and informed you that for us, we're really nothing more than puppets. Well, now is the time for any puppeteers to come and enjoy some time with your creations, if you so desire!"

"Well I-" Bill's voice interrupted his response and he turned around to debate him. "Bill, I already discussed this with you in the private booths. There are no puppet masters and I'm not a puppet." He stopped only to smirk "There are no strings on me."
About the same time, a person appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the lounge. He snapped his fingers once and the name "Urako" appeared on the guest book in a glowing solid gold cursive. From there, Urako took a bow at the guests. "Dozer's puppet-master at your service." Then he faced Bill. "Thank you for having me."
While the events transpired, the 18 year old's face showed shock. And when he called Derrick out as his puppet, his face turned absolutely pale. Finally, he stood up with his knees trembling until he finally mustered up the strength. "Wait! That means you're-"
Before he could continue, Urako snapped his fingers and made the target indifferent. He was no longer trembling with fear or anger, but instead he sat back down. At this, Urako turned Dozer's drink to punch. "Sorry about that but you're whole 'get a hangover so I can remember' scheme was going to fail. At least this way you won't break the law." The person smiled at his creation. "And yes I am responsible for all the suffering you've gone through and will go through, but I'm also the reason you exist, the reason you're alive, and the reason you're going to have your happy ending one day. So are we cool."
The magic had a complete influence over Derrick. So when he responded, he was nonchalant. "Yeah we're cool."
"Great then." Urako turned to Bill. "Sorry about that. That trick is harmless as you can see and it was necessary to defuse the situation before a fight broke out. So does anyone have any questions they’d like me answer?"

Bill grins.
Bill: "Nice to have you! It's always a pleasure, and please, make sure you enjoy yourself. Well, in a technical sense. After all, the you that's here isn't really you at all, hm?" He laughs as though it were some big joke.

"That is true Bill, I am just an avatar that the author chose to write into this thread and I suppose I really have no more control than Dozer here in terms of free will. It's nice to have the powers though." He gave a smile and turned towards the others. "Again, do any of you have any questions?"
Jan 22, 2017 11:34 PM #1474285
"Yeah. What's your favorite superpower?"
Jan 22, 2017 11:38 PM #1474288
Urako responded almost instantly. "My favorite superpower would be Technopathy. There's just so many practical applications and usefulness for it as well as some very power combat uses."

"Sweet... So like, you're one of them 'puppeteers?' In that case, who's my puppeteer?"
