Derrick leaned over to see the blade that was being shown to Cadell. All the while he listened intently. Iris, Cadell, and David were all speaking with others so he didn't have much to do unless somehow one of the others warmed up to him. The whole scenario made him confused. All he knew was that he met some powerful entity and now he couldn't remember anything about it. Slowly, he turned towards Bill as if looking at him could answer his question.

"Bill. I can't remember anything that happened after I rebuked your puppetmaster statement. Will you please tell us what happened?"

Raising an eyebrow at the mention of "moonlight," Cadell closed his eyes and nodded sagely. "I see, just like in those anime Clem always tell me to stop watching."

"It's garbage and you know it!"

"Hmpf. Well-crafted garbage, then."

David laughed at the comment, "Well said! This 'garbage' your Clemence tells you about is actually indestructible, and it has been blessed by Death..."

Turning the blade over in his hands, he noticed Derrick sneaking a glance at the sword, "Ah, Mr. Dozer, would you like a closer look?" He asked, bringing the sword over to the young man for a better look.

Dozer took closer look at the sword. It looked to be real and quite frankly, he didn't doubt it. Almost nothing seemed impossible to him anymore.

"I just thought I'd take a look at the sword is all. You really seem to have a knack for weaponry. So what do you mean it has been blessed by death?"

David smiled again, "Ah, one of my favorite stories. You see, as I am Immortal, I cannot die of natural causes, AKA sickness or age. This is a major problem for Death, as it sees me as a challenge to its own nature of reaping souls. It appeared to me a few days after I got this weapon, looking to challenge me for my soul."

He stopped for a moment, letting his words sink in, then continued, "If I won, Death would bless my weapon, making it indestructible and capable of killing any opponent. If I lost, I would have to go with Death, my soul that is."

"Naturally, I won, I'd spent hundreds of years honing my skills with a blade, and Death was not used to fighting his victims, I beat it without much of a struggle." With this, the young looking immortal set the weapon down on the table once again, "You may pick it up and look at it more closely if you wish..." He leaned back in his chair, a small smile across his face.

Derrick reached out and almost wrapped his hand around the hilt before holding it up to view in front of his face. All the while, he made certain not to point the blade at the other two people as he examined it. He took a few paces back and sliced through the air to get a handle on it. He never officially used a sword, but general weapons safety training covered what not to do.

"Thanks dude." He stopped and handed it back to its owner after he was finished. "So basically what you're saying is it's indestructible and really sharp."

David frowned, "No need to be crude my friend, but yes, it is those two things. But you cannot downgrade this beautiful piece of art to a simple weapon. It took ten years to forge it and endow it with power, no easy task..."

He sheathed it and strung it back onto his hip, leaning forward. "What weapon do you use Derrick?" He asked plainly.

[OOC: Here come my characters! (at last!)]

These characters are paired, one being royalty (Prince Voidwraith), and the other, a bodyguard of sorts (Mr. Stinkfoot). I figured since this RP is not combat-based, they'd be perfect, since they are far from professional warriors.

Prince Voidwraith (Click to Show)

Mr. Stinkfoot (Click to Show)

***

Prince Voidwraith came out from the Lobby, marching into the Main Lounge like he owned the place. Bringing up the rear was Mr. Stinkfoot, intimidating in terms of appearance aside from his cute, round eyes.

"Alright!" the Prince barked. "Who's in charge around here?"

He stopped in the middle of the room, arms folded; his eyes clearly showing he meant business. Mr. Stinkfoot came up beside him, looked around nervously for a moment, and then said:

"Sir...I think we're supposed to socialize first."

"BORING!" the Prince yelled. "And I didn't give you permission to speak!"

The bodyguard quieted down obediently, and then put his tentacles behind his back. There was an awkward silence, and then the Prince went and sat on a couch.

"I'M STILL BORED!" he announced.

Derrick just smirked back at David's comment. He admitted he was in fact a gladiator multiple times earlier, but the lad was making some assumptions about him. Nevertheless, he put his left hand in his pocket and reached for it.

"You're assuming I even use a weapon."

As he started to pull the cylinder out, he heard the loud entrance of the smug prince. It was kind of obnoxious to him and he couldn't help rolling his eyes before getting back on track. he pulled his device out and in an instant, extended it into a full length staff to show Cadell and David.

"This here is what I call a kinetic staff. It is considered to be indestructible and incredibly lightweight. I personally have no idea how it's achieved, but the biggest marvel is what it does. Notice the hollow tips of it?"

He pointed to each end. At once, a green line of light activated on the end he chose to present to the others.

"It operates based on how tight you grip it and other things. But basically both ends can charge up energy like this. I myself don't know the exact nature of it, but it matches the description of kinetic energy. At any time I may expel it, but it get's stronger if I don't."

By the time he had finished talking, the glow changed to blue.

"You just saw green. It's quick rapid charges that don't hurt much. They're more akin to being punched in the face. The blue ones you see here are completely capable of breaking bones of non-conditioned individuals. To gladiators though, it's more of a heavy hit."

Once again, the light from the staff changed. This time to purple.

"This is where bones and structures start cracking when they're hit. Again, it depends on how well you're body is conditioned. I knocked someone through a wall with this once."

Finally, the energy turned red and brighter than the others.

"This. Well this is where bones start breaking and everything else seems to shatter. If you get hit by this it's usually game over or close to it. And if you're not careful, it could easily kill someone if they're not strong enough. Now this is the strongest, slowest, and brightest of all my kinetic charges. Theoretically, I'm told it could go on forever but if I keep charging the staff, it fizzles out."

His final action was to do exactly that. If he didn't there would be nowhere for the charge to go but to someone or somewhere in the room. It was then that he offered a closer look.

"So do either of you have any questions?"

"Yeah! How come your glow-in-the-dark staff looks so lame?" Prince Voidwraith asked, walking over and taking a good look at it. "It has no eyeballs, tentacles, oozing slime, or toothy mouths."

Mr. Stinkfoot looked too. "What an interesting weapon." he said politely, ignoring the Prince's death glare.

"I order you to say it's lame." he growled.

Mr. Stinkfoot sighed.

"Well, I so it is." he mumbled, rubbing at the back of his head with a tentacle.

"LOUDER!"

"Why, what a lame weapon we have here. In fact, I haven't seen anything lamer in my entire life, and that's significant because I'm really old."

A wide grin spread across the Prince's face.

"Perfect." he hissed, and then turned about and threw himself on another couch with a huge, exaggerated sigh.

"Mr. Stinkfoot...do you think they have servants around here?"

The bodyguard took his place near the Prince and shrugged. "I do not think so sir. I can get you something if you like."

"I changed my mind. I don't want anything."

The Prince then curled up and went to sleep right there. Mr. Stinkfoot waited until he started snoring, and then drew a little closer. Stretching out a tentacle, he pulled Prince Voidwraith's cape up over him like a blanket, and the snoring stopped. The action brought a smile to the bodyguard's face. Just like at home, the Prince would always stop snoring once he's tucked in. With nothing to do, he stood with his back to the Prince, facing the others in the room. He wasn't much of a talker, so all he could do now was stand and stare awkwardly while the other people conversed. Mr. Stinkfoot looked over his shoulder a moment and smiled again. He'd never admit it out loud...but the Prince looked quite cute when he was asleep.

David's face twisted into a disgusted grimace as the prince shouted the insult at Derrick's armament. He was about to get up and go tell him off when he noticed the royal slug (meant as an insult) go to sleep on the couch. He smiled grimly then turned back to Dozer, "What a putrid example of royalty. I've met far better than him in my travels. Why, the likes of King Solomon for example, he was a truly wise and noble king..."

The young man's face seemed to diffuse its anger as he talked of his past, the experiences seeming to be pleasurable to talk about. "Ah but I digress, may I see the weapon, Derrick?"

"Yes you may see my weapon. Just remember to give it back to me when you're done. I understand that everything resets here, but I would still like it back before I leave if that's okay with you."

With that, he smiled and handed to device over to David.

"Honestly, I forgive them both. Stinkfoot was clearly put up to insulting my staff and Besides that, i'll take petty insults over actually harmful actions any day. As for the king, he does seem like a snob, but if this is the worst he does, then he is a pretty good king."

David frowned at the young mortal's reply, "I see, I respect that kind of attitude, but I cannot respect a man with no kindness except for himself. I have put others' well being above my own in my journey. I would rather earn my weapons without conflict and little persuading."

He grasped the staff in his rough, calloused hands as he stood up and gave it a few good spins and swipes through the air. Satisfied with it, he sat back down and made it retract into its smaller, more portable form, "A very fine weapon indeed. Lightweight, sturdy, and full of potential uses, I assume you use it for good?"

Sit up, you're starting to doze off again.

Cadell yawned, squinting in the direction of the two newcomers in order to get a better look at their appearance. Eyes widening in surprise for a moment, he blinked a few times, making certain that he wasn't just seeing things.
"I dunno, it's probably hard living with that much body hair... I mean, I would be pretty darn pissed off myself. Showering must be terrible."

Glancing over at Derrick's staff, Cadell whistled. "Dang it fellas, ya both got some sweet toys, that's for sure." Shrugging and holding his arms up to either side, he shook his head slowly. "I guess my little ol' notebook just can't compare."

"That's how it's going to be, hmm? Well, this 'notebook' is going to have you comparing an extra lesson with your history studies tomorrow."

Cadell smirked and leaned back in his seat. "Totally worth it."
