Wait, was there anything confirmed for Handy? :s

Not yet. I haven't had any time to work on anything game related for a while, just relax. If he makes it in, it'll be hard to miss.

Yeah sorry, I haven't been posting as many updates as I'd like to cuz I wanna avoid double/triple posting for minor things. Long story short, all of Honey and Jr's animations are done and they're in the game. Right now I'm just working on visual and sound effects, UI design, camera cinematics for the supers, and adjusting frame data and hitboxes. Afterwards I'll be piecing together the first two character trailers for Youtube. I'll make an announcement here once those are done and then figure out who to add to the roster next. In the meantime I'll try to update the thread either today or this weekend with a WIP.gif of Honey doing a basic combo or something.

Well, seeing as how she has absolutely no screen/particle effects yet, no camera cinematics, no physics colliders for her hair (phases through her neck) and bandages, unfinished force values (notice the super far push at the end with zero knockdown), and only half of the hitboxes she needs, not particularly lol. But here you go anyway. I'll post another one once all the aforementioned things are finished and it'll look 12x better.
You should've seen Jr's without the slash trails :canadian:

Look interesting so far, but focus abit on texture & lighting abit (what i see on Death testing gif is completly black, cant defind his body parts)
Is there any possible link for me to try playing it? Im also working on a RHG fighting game (stick 2D sprites)

Thanks, but I've already been working on the lighting. Part of what I meant when I said:

Lighting falls under visual. So far I've just been using a basic skybox for lighting which makes everthing look relatively flat, so dark objects look pitch black, and light objects are near blinding. But since I'm basically testing movesets all day it's not really a big deal atm. However, maybe I'll take a screenshot when I try a different lighting setup, post it here, and ask you guys which one looks best. The intricacies of fine lighting always escaped me so maybe public opinion will fare better.

Nope. Read the front page.

Good luck with that. You're a great animator so I'm sure it'll look awesome. ;)

EDIT: Ok so here's a side by side of the setup from before and one I made last night. Is the new one better, or is it too dark?

Damn this is looking good. There is no way I would guess that this is your first time (granted, I'm not an animator, but I am an avid consumer of animations and games :P). I definitely will be waiting for this to be released.

I think so too. Probably gonna make some small adjustments and stick with it.

In other news, I'm almost finished with the first real stage. It felt good making progress on stuff before, but having it all on a boring training stage diminished the appeal for me somewhat. There's still a few more things I have to add to the background and I can't really explain the concept behind the stage without spoilers for the story I have planned, but here's a screenshot.

:O

The background looks really nice (I'm a sucker for space imagery, so hey, there's bias there), but the floor texture looks a bit strange. As if some of the crevices around it didn't look exactly 3D. Plus, I can tell where the texture is split, which doesn't work when the cracks are not supposed to have a repeatable pattern. But I suppose that's part of what you meant with "almost" finished : D

Oh! I completely forgot to do the height map lol. When the game is actually running the camera is a lot closer than that and since the globe and crystals are so big in comparison to the player, the repeating pattern wasn't really noticeable to me. I probably shouldn't be lazy about it though. Thanks for pointing it out.

EDIT: Fixed it.

Wow, great work on the stage. I like the space theme, as well as the overall feel. Well executed as well -- I mean, just looking at it on my laptop I would expect the same kind of graphics from a professional stage. Very well done.

I think I'm still a long way off from anything resembling "professional", but thanks!
