Main thing about this that bothers me is that you used the bevel tool. You generally want to never use bevels as they never tend to look good, especially regarding artwork. The whip(?) is very rough and messy, and stands out too much when you look at it compared to the smooth lines of your character; I'd also recommend turning down your brush smoothness. Whilst I do applaud your attempt at trying to go for an angle, there are still issues with it. Namely the character is so short and pudgy (compared to your avatar especially) that it looks awkward. The background is too basic for my liking (simplicity is one thing but the environment is still not very interesting and just feels like it's there for the sake of just being there, you know?), and part of it hasn't been filled properly. The pose overall for me lacks a sense of motion, and if you want to try and visualise how this pose would feel, try doing it yourself and see how the body would form in response to the angle (as in taking a picture of this pose at this angle, it helps even with something basic if you're unsure)). Not really sure how to conclude this due to how basic it is.
