Secondly, Ignus. Given the amount of info you had to work with, kind of expected, no?

Well of course, though looking through the other's reactions, I'm rather disappointed in how short some of them were. Particularly Aquila's... *cough* *cough*

Excuse me? Did you see my email? Don't you dare accuse me of not putting forth effort after what cards I was dealt. I gave the best reaction I could give in the situation I was given. Why the fuck would I waste words on what I was given? Did you want me to fill my reaction with useless cosmetics of how he was sipping tea or eating a biscuit? I reacted to the letter. Period. How dare you state that I did not put forth effort in this event.

Mate, if I got sent some terrible stuff like that, you can believe I'd half-ass it to the max. I don't want to give the person who sent that any sort of satisfaction. It felt like the least amount of effort. You're supposed to make the character react negatively, not the author.

Oh man, I pissed off the lounge.

Okay, that wasn't cool of me, sorry Aquila, I was being stupid there. My bad.

Alright, if you take offense to something you get in any of my events, please let me know in the future so I can sort it out

Okay... Could someone point me to the place of behavioural regulations and recommendations for the lounge? I'd rather not break any unspoken rules by accident.

To be honest, it looked like a different direction, so this took me off guard, which is why I didn't intercept the submitting. As far as unspoken things go, the only thing I've seen to set people on fire is if CnC comes off as mocking. I can show you an example if needed, but it has to be pretty direct

EDIT: I guess openly and specifically blowing off (non-harsh) criticism from the majority of the community or spitting in its face too. I can dig up an example of that as well if needed. Neither of these things are subtle though, so I can't see you accidentally doing either.

I took no offense to the letter, it was a silly letter that didn't hold much content so I believe my reaction to it was fitting. What I took offense to was Ignus' sly at me that was hidden behind "coughing." Lamenting that he was disappointed at how short my work was, despite seeing what my letter was. He found himself justified in some way to criticize the length of my reaction, insinuating that the reason it's so short wasn't because of the letter, but because of a lack of participation on my end. That is what I took offense to and not let stand uncontested. With that said, I do accept your apologies Ignus, mistakes can be made. But instead of that stupid coughing bullshit, just state what you're thinking.

A few thoughts:

Love you Sebbykins

Hopefully this nickname was more to your liking, or at least passably tolerable. However, I deem it appropriate to rescind this nickname, and the previous one, and stick to referring you as either SJCRPV / Seb until I am offered a nickname or title by which you would be preferred to be called instead. Please understand that the previous nicknames were assigned out of my unrequited appreciation of you, Seb. I called you eyebrows not to poke fun, but simply because I know them to be one of your most beautiful and defining features, among an assured multitude of nigh equal facial and bodily contenders. Again, please understand, I'm not out here trying to offend folks, you especially.

THANKS CHROME, BECAUSE I 100% DIDN'T SAY I WOULD BE POSTING THE LETTERS MONDAY OR ANYTHING

Glad you guys had fun!

And you call Seb capslock. :p
You're right though, I may have jumped the gun. Though I'll counter by saying that because it wasn't included in the original post, I felt the need to offer some explanation as to why Aquila wouldn't include my letter, and in doing so, prematurely "revealed" myself -- though to top all of this off, I put that in quotes because as you have yet to post the letters yourself (despite it having been Monday for you and across much of the world for some time) there is no concrete proof that what Aquila and I said was Aquila's letter was actually Aquila's actual letter, and even if it turns out to have been this whole time, there's still no way you could have actually known that at the current time which again is now technically quite fairly well into Monday in some parts of the world.

I did have fun though. Probably at the expense of others to some degree.

Just putting it out there, I read the bolded section of this as a length jab, not a content jab. Had I not posted my letter to Aquila, given the nature of the event, this could easily have been a content jab/complaint, IE: directly accusing Aquila of being lazy / copping out by not having Abra read the email. He didn't do that, and I think the premature revelation of the utter shit content from me that Aquila was working around here was part of the reason for that. The only "rude" thing here was the "coughing," which I read as less of Ignus directly calling out Aquila, versus him (unknowingly?) coming off like a bit of an ass, which he did end up apologizing for.

Now imagine if people had complained about Aquila's response to my letter, with the letter not having been visible, and Aquila not being able to reveal the letter without breaking rules himself. While I'll be the first to vouch for Ignus and say that well, no -- he wasn't necessarily saying what you think he's saying by the sound of how he's saying what he is actually saying, if you're pissed, tired and confused then sometimes none of that shit matters until you've thought about it for an hour or so and maybe gotten some good night's sleep somewhere in there. I get that. Abra's reaction also felt in character to me.

I will forever read this comment as "You mad, bro?" and I don't care what anyone says to try and tell me otherwise.
He's doing better now though by the look of it.

also hey guys if we do this again, what do you say to "no images or links to anything resembling a sex toy" as an official rule moving forward, just curious[/spoiler]

Yeah, I tend to do that, as in not saying what I'm thinking and come off sounding like a dick. Again, sorry, my apologies.

So... is there no rule against using people's actual names in the forum? I mean, if they've already given their name, its probably fine, but respect for anonymity and privacy and all that.

Not actually trying to sound judgy, just curious

Not sure this thread is the best place to discuss that, but yeah, it's just a matter of respect and awareness. No official rule or anything.

In my case, I'm fine with people calling me Seb on here because otherwise, it's pretty easy to misspell SJCRPV (and I don't like that). I still prefer people use my username, but I won't fault anyone from referring to me as Seb. Plus, I've been around here (Writer's Lounge) enough that most people will know who I am if they mention my name.
Also, Crank's the only one allowed to call me CAPSLOCK. He and he alone won the right to use that nickname through the simple cleverness and unexpectedness of when he first employed it.
