I'm not quite sure what you mean by how things work, but obviously you've figured out where to post an introduction, so that's a pretty good start.
If you use any animation programs you can post things you've made in the showoff section, and you can find links to those programs in the general help section.
You can also just talk in the off topic sections and main.
