I know I've started projects and haven't completed them in the past (Dungeon Escape II, The AYDS Comspiracy, and my Sims 2 SPP neighborhood), but this is something that I know I can do.

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is a well known and widely praised RPG that many of you have heard of.

I hesitate to believe that any of you have not heard of Harry Potter.

Well, I decided I would make a Mod of Morrowind with all of the Hogwarts grounds made accessable. I am eventually going to add hogsmede and the forbidden forest, then possibly other famous locations like The Ministry of Magic and Diagon Alley. My eventual goal is to make an entire single-player experience with many quests and all the characters from the books, complete with their likenesses from the movies.

Of course, I have to start small, so I'm first going to build hogwarts alone. I'm going to get hundreds of images of the hogwarts grounds, including screencaps from the movies and games. I'm also going to get ahold of the PC version of one of the games (Plese reccomend one) so I can use it as a reference.

Any suggestions/comments?

Get the latest Harry Potter game, save the audio clips from it too, for use in Oblivion.

Hogwarts is easily the size of the Imperial city so I would find a large place and build it there, good luck with it.

I'd probably just go through the game and murder everybody with my sword, however.

Why not go Morroblivion first, and then do it?

If you can get a Harry Potter game for the PC I reccomend the second one, that one has a free roam ability in between missions and you can get a better look at the grounds that way.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. I have only played that and the third, however.

@MoD: I can't do it in Oblivion on my PC.

I say you get "Harry Potter : The Order of Phoenix" as a reference for how Hogwarts looks. Also... try to make a new adventure. Don't recreate one of the books.

Btw, when I get back to school i'm doing an AS level English lit and lang, and i'll be doing harry potter as part of the litereture. I'll probably have a really good understanding of everything in Harry Potter by the end of it, and as a piece of coursework I have to write one of the spell books, so I could give you that if you wanted.

I'm getting Chamber of Secrets. It has broom flight and open exploration, and it will run well on my PC. Plus, I already have experience playing it.

Also, I'm going to make all the quests up by myself, but I'll try to tie them in to the 6th book as much as possible.

How about instead of making the game around Harry Potter you become a new student enrolled at Hogwarts? That would be more fun rather than knowing whats going to happen allready.

I really like this idea :D

That's exactly what I had in mind.

I decided to add all the different common rooms and allow the player to choose which house they want to be in. This will be easy to accomplish. All I have to do is make it so that when they are placed in a house (I'll use houses as a subsitution for classes) they are given an object called "Common Room Password" which will function just like the regular in-game keys. The portraits for each entrance will be doors, also.

I just realized something. I need to do something about weapons. Normally, in Morrowind, you have swords, axes, bows, etc. I could just remove weapons alltogether, but then I'd have to work on changing the game's AI. I could give the player nothing but the wand as a weapon and set a standard spell (Like Flippendo in the games) to use as the attack, but I would prefer something more believable.
