Also, by pirate they ment download it illegaly or find a serial, which doesn't work for CS3 PC versions, incase you didn't know.

It does work with CS3, and I may or may not be speaking from experience.

And what's with all the CS3 haters? The brush sizes are the only downside I've found so far :/

my friend had flash cs3 and hated it. I showed him flash8 and he like it. It just depends

I have used flash 8 for line sticks. I dont really have a problem with it, just time consuming. also, the paint brush lines and line tool lines can get pretty small, so I don't think its that much of a difference. listen to the above posters also. they have much better crit than me.
@darkcampainger: your sig is awesome.

Line animating is easier and smoother if you make the stick, then use the cursor to move the limbs a bit instead of redrawing the stick. At least, that's how I do it.

All a matter of your style, and opinion.
For example: If your into making games, CS3 is the best option.
If your into making sticks with lines, CS3 is the best option.
Both for the same reason: More actionscripting.
At CS3 you can actionscript somewhat everything from your keyboard to things, like Q will toggle quality and mouse buttons will toggle the frame rate or loops.

If your into making brush sticks, BOTH are good! Some prefer thick sticks, so they will go for Flash 8 his bigger brush options. Others prefer thin sticks, and maybe outlines, and will go for CS3 to still enjoy the actionscript or better looking workplace.

You can't really say Flash 8 or CS3 sucks, its just you and your style that makes you think that opinion.

EDIT: Holy shit, Lixu made a reply that is longer then 1 line!

The implied question was whether or not there was a downside to using CS3 other than brush sizes, which your post does not provide. In fact, except for the brush sizes, all those points were pro-CS3.

I suppose you could argue price, but I think it's a safe assumption that that wasn't an obstacle to those complaining.

I also said its different about the user his brush style, some like thick, some like thin, for the thin ones, there is no downside for them at CS3

Personally I just can't be bothered upgrading.

Apparently you don't need to, but I guess if you can get your hands on CS3, go for it.

Well, I downloaded Flash 8, and it looks the same as Cs3, but it seems to be easier to move around in. In my opion I like the 8 better, so I'm gonna stick with that. Thanks guys! =) I'm reading the Help File to start the action scripting now.
