Shit like RHCP, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, etc.
Trying to enjoy different music styles here.
Also, I found the most fucking awesome band.

I agree with 2-D. There are very few "indie" bands that are any good.
On a completely different topic. I have found the most hardcore band ever.

Listen to; As I Lay dying
They're a good band, also; A Black Rose Burial

Eh, it's not that bad.
Well, as for good indie bands, I'm not completely sure on what Indie is, even though I listen to some apparent indie bands.
Well, here are some bands, in any case:
The Ghost Frequency
Babyshambles (Everybody knows of these, though.)
Augustana (Alt.)
Bloc Party
David Ford (Eh.. some of his songs could be classed as Indie)
The Enemy
Does It Offend You, Yeah? (Sort of electro/Indie)
Hadouken! (They're more grime, still a top notch band.)
Enter Shikari's whole first album was classed as alternative, but I doubt you're into them.
The Killers
Ah, can't really think of more. You probably know of all these. Most are Indie, some aren't so.

They practically do. Chances are quite literally with the vocals.
If he's into that music though, then so be it.

Flobots are indie, I like them. Got to see them in concert on my birthday.

Indie simply means that the band haven't signed to any major record labels, it doesn't determine the type music. Anyways, check Franz Ferdinand out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qII2RBVcEKQ

Yeah, what he said. Indie would be something like Atmosphere or People Under The Stairs, because they're not signed to a record label. Another word for it is underground.
