I'm thinking of building a small robot that does a simple task, but I need some expertice. I've never really done it before, so if anyone can give me links and such to good robotics programming sites and software, I'd appreciate it. I did say expertice, however, so if you've never done anything of the sort I don't need your help.

I know you have to start somewhere, but I'd recommend to start making your robot with someone.
Because the only robots you can build alone are the Lego ones.

Yeah, the site 2-D recommends is a great site.
If you are really serious you need to learn C++/C#/C.

Try VEX robotics if you want something that's not lego.
It's just as expensive, only about $300. The only main difference is that it's not Lego, so you can only build it once. Unless you build it to be taken apart.

You really think I would ask without googling it?

Yeah, so? I just figured someone on here might have a little bit of know how, before I join another forum.
