conspiracy! So, why in the bible do they say that you will be automaticly be forgiven if its entire purpose is for people to obay it? (FYI, not an unquestioning slave of the church)

Um, okay. I just figured if it was all supposed to be control they would make you go through some kind of elaborate and distressing process to make you "clean".

Well, control is best accomplished by establishing trust.

No, I don't think religion is just a way to control people.
