Hello SPP. I thought I'd make my first post in quite some time be a debate starter. I haven't seen this topic on the forums yet, but if it has recently been made, be sure to tell me and I'll lock it.
Onto the debate topic, being: Which ATHLETIC sport do you find to be the "hardest"?
Of course by saying hardest, I mean:
-Requires most skill.
-Requires most endurance and strength.
-The practices in the sport require to be strong and the more hard working.
I bring this topic up because more sports, and the people who play it, are not only ignored, but underestimated for their work. Swimming/Track, Lacrosse, and Gymnastics are examples of sports which are much less recognized than Basketball, Football, or Soccer.
I am a varsity swimmer for my school, and everybody in my high school thinks that it is the "easiest" or "gayest". (Mostly the wrestlers). I would like to know what this community thinks about the hardest sports.
If you think about it, Swimming down a 25 yard pool 4 times, or running around a 1/4 mile track 4 times may look even easy to another person. If you think about it more, you may realize that swimming down that 25 yard pool 4 times can be extremely hard depending upon the stroke you do. I swim the Butterfly Stroke for my school, and from personal experience I can tell you that it
takes a lot of strength and endurance to do this. I may even say that it is the hardest sport based on the skill it really requires, but I would like your opinion.
Edit: Im in the District Championships this weekend. Ill give you guys a video on sunday or something.

I think the hardest sport would be Martial Arts. There is so many of them Kung Fu, Tae-kwon-do, Muy Thai, Kendo, Caporeia, Boxing, Hapkido, Kick Boxing, Tang Soo Do, Tai Chi, Karate, Wrestling, Judo, Jeet Kune Do, Kempo, Kendo, and many more. And a few of those have one or more style to it like, Karate, Kung Fu, and Jiu Jutsu. Think of all the teqnuices and will power to do it all without hesitation.

Well I tried a few Self-defense classes. You have a point. The practices can be extremely taxing on your body, and the competitions/usage gets to be hard as well!

Getting in that cage isn't just a physical feat, but mental too.

Most of them are. I'm sure swimming would be up there if you try it competitively.
MMA=?

I always thought that running was the king of exercises, and if it counts as a sport, than it shall be as well. It just always seemed to be so physically demanding to me, if you were to just keep on running and running.

I sorry.
It can be very tiring to run forever. You have to have some form put into it too.

anyway whats the point of runniong that long. To me running is boring :/ unless there like music or a mosh pit.

I think football is more painful than running. Even though there are pads to protect, you can still knock the wind outta people and break limbs. Pads don't stop bruising. As a football player I think football is up there with the painful sports but as I've heard, Martial Arts is more painful. So MA, must be the most.

I think futbol is the hardest sport. You have to have:
Lots a strength
Lots of endurance
JUst like in any other sport right?
WRONG!
When it comes to being on teh field, its seems as though everyone really has to work together. Its almost impossible to win teh game on ur own. This is like ultimate frisbee.
And also, is it just me or do you feel more in a game mode with either of these sports compared other sports?

Be aware of the difference between the most painful sport and the hardest sport. Painful sports come with pain that you decided to go through aware of the pain while joining the sport. Hard sports may include painful sports, but there are more features to them that make them hard.
Individual sports may be of the harder variety because you dont have a team to back you up, or in that matter, pull you down.

I haven't noticed that. Perhaps all team sports are like that in a manner.
But what are you implying in the rest of your message?
