anyway, the pig thingy's head was too big.

I cant really crit the pig head, but I dont see what you consider detailed in that head sketch. I think you have a decent style, but if you want to be able to do decent anime, you need to definitely practice figure drawing. The eyes are different shapes, not just different lines; the nose makes no sense; those ears are way out of perspective. With those in mind, you should know what needs improving. When you simplify something so much, you need a good sense of what part of the facial features you need to draw for that specific expression and perspective. (hence why it is called simplified)
