Well its obviously not a bot, since some guy asked me what my name on Facepunch was and kept spouting off dumb memes.

What I'm wondering is how you become a "bot" though.

I wondered that. I had a full convorsation with him. A bot wouldn't know half of the things he did. Also, I made him smile.

I figured it out! Once a person leaves, it's a new person. To that person you're talking to, you seem to be the ChatBot. To you, they're the ChatBot. One person was confused when I asked him how you could become one. He said "What? You're the ChatBot I'M talking to."
