For once, it is legal. There's no law that prevents you from commiting suicide.
Then, all the "faggot 13 year old emo's" are very likely to get out of that phase early enough. It's not like they'll stay that way forever, I know several people who went emo for a while and then became totally normal again. It's a terrible, terrible statement you made there.

There is a law, but it states that ATTEMPTING suicide is illegal. So if you take 40 sleeping pills and survive, legally they can arrest you, but usually they just send you to a psychiatric hospital for evalutation.

We're going a bit off topic here. This isn't about suicide, but the book to tell you how to commit suicide being banned.

The "emos" are usually the kind of people who have horrible parents, and life has not gone so well for them. Though most emos I know are in their teenage years, they still would commit suicide if their boyfriend or girlfriend dumped them. Stupid right?

I have also witnessed one of my close friends commit suicide. He took a bread knife and cut his jugular artery. Bled out in a number of seconds, controlling the bleeding was impossible. It was very selfish of him to do so because than I become depressed and pretty damn emo for a few weeks.

The book shouldnt be banned because its your choice on what to read, but suicide is still an awful solution to problems.... unless you go to heavon or hell or get recarnated or some crazy shit... but thats another debate

I am actually against the book but also against the ban. I don't think that anything that encourages suicide is good. However, I would not consider someone who was terminally ill and in pain killing themselves suicide. That would be anesthesia, with the side effect of killing yourself.

I am against the ban because of the precedent. If the government can ban books they consider harmful, then they can ban whatever they want by revising their definition of "harmful". I also think that the idea that allowing suicide would decrease suicides and improve society is BS. we did that for divorce, and did that help?
