Easier to work with tho.
and ok, now it's been fixed. I see what you mean.
people bitch and moan about it regardless though, so it's hard to tell what speed to actually use. I run my animations at 24 fps, no more, no less, tending to double frame then go back to clean it up. fast or slow movement, people bitch and moan, so there has to to be something else that no one has mentioned yet that I haven't found either

And thank you for actually answering my question. It's like trying to get blood out of a stone, getting answers to questions it seems.

Okay, i would try to show you on flash by myself but i couldn't do it better than this

http://www.stickpageportal.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95185&highlight=basic+stick+figure+construction

it is an amazing tutorial made by a very experienced animator, hope this helps

EDIT: and yes, there is a better way of drawing stickmen, i suggest using the brush tool for now and make the lines thicker, and for the head i realize why your heads are ovals but here is what i do and it works for me:
animate the whole thing frame by frame (draw the stickman every single frame) and go back, zoom out, and with the apropriate size brush draw a dot for the head just one click for a circle and there is a perfect circle head...

If any of this is confusing 'cause i am not the best at explaining stuff just ask for a clearer explanation and i'll try to make it easier to understand

Hope this helps

Already watched it, it made no difference. my sticks happen to be made of 9 different lines and a head, about what they use there, incidentally. I use grids, I use onion skinning. The only real difference here is I use the line tool because THOSE joints are easy to manipulate. but I get it. People just don't want me to be animating, even though I'm doing no worse than anyone else at this thread. No, I'm not saying that with no justification. Since I joined SPP, I get lots of flak, and no help, if I get any response at all (yes, other people get flak, but it's not constant, and its only periodically). No point in posting in this thread. If my work is just going to get shit on anyway, I might as well post somewhere where I MIGHT get some helpful C&C.

And yes, I look at the tutorials too, and try the stuff by itself a few times before adding it to other stuff.

In short, go **** yourself.

Don't be lazy, just redraw it. Ever heard of Ctrl+Z?
but I get it. People just don't want me to be animating, even though I'm doing no worse than anyone else at this thread.

I usually do take c&c. but that requires actual c&c, not just saying that it sucks so get better. Yes, I've heard of ctrl+z. its called undo. Not what I'm looking for. Overreacting? probably. Sorry for those OTHER than the one it was aimed at.

The difference between real C&C and what you said(BEFORE the tutorial, when I had originally made my point about it) was real c&c actually gives helpful advice, instead of just saying that something sucks. it isn't a hard concept. c&c is comments and criticism. maybe it should read c&cc-coments and constructive criticism, as I obviously view the criticism part differently than every other person here.

and darkcloud, devour already went over that, albeit a lot more in depth.

Fine b0mb I'll f***ing C&C

Ok first the text is way too slow. There just talking it gets really boring. Also if you're not going to use the first arena why all that trouble. The second one is really creepy the rainbow background and all that s***.
Now to the fighting there is almost no action. When the action starts the sticks barley move there arms and legs it looks like you just copied and pasted the stickman to next frame.

Lastly, you focus too much on effects. Try and get the basics of animating first(Easing, Momentum, Anticipation, ect). My opinion the first stage would have been a cooler battle ground.

There b0mb I C&C happy.

first, the first part was already covered. It's been dealt with. second, It's not done, so of course there isn't a lot yet. Third, I already acknowledged that I didn't exaggerate the motion enough. Yes, the frames are similar. It's necessary, running at 24 fps trying to make things move a bit more smoothly than running at 12 fps.

for the first, I was actually planning on using it...i just had no clue where to go from where I had it. not sure exactly how to layer it all for usability, making the few buildings usable, appropriate window size, and all the factory paraphernalia. I just didn't know what to do for it to look right. It definately was the better one

And yes, I am happy that I actually got an answer that gave advice. thank you. Now I can actually ACT on it.

First animation I ever did was crap too, everybodies is, everyone goes through the same shit point you are going through now. You're not ready for sticks yet bro, animate some balls bouncing for physics and easing, animate lines flying around for fixing the speed of your animations, and easing, and maybe some cannons blasting a cannon ball into a rectangle for force, then after have the rectangle fly onto the floor for more physics and force.

Just do alot of small tests and whatnot before you gor for an actual big stick fight with effects'n shit.
