http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1270328823 - I know the 'fire demon' gets smaller, it's supposed to be because of the cold air (well, it isn't, but it's a good excuse).

Elaboration ftw?

Zerofreedom, that doesn't look all that bad, you just need to make it look a bit more fluid, also, it's quite difficult to tell if the 'beam' is sucking the red light in on giving it off.

Then get the **** into the pivot section.

Digi I mean watch some tutorials start from the basics because that is the definition of choppy. Same with zero. Practice a bunch and come back and I'll give some good C&C.

Sorry, but unless I read this thread's title wrong, this is supposed to be the place for beginners to post their first few animations, not those who know what they need to improve, how to do it and which tutorials to use in order to help them do it, otherwise there would be no point in posting anything other than a perfect masterpiece. If you 'practice a bunch', your not a beginner. It would be nice if you weren't so harsh to the new guys such as Moon, Zero and myself, admittedly Moon made a silly mistake, but we are new here, surely if someone is a beginner, they are bound to be inexperienced.

Please do correct me if anything I have said is wrong or that you feel the beginners section shouldn't be for beginners but in fact experienced animators.

This is also a beginner animation. This is where you can get help to improve. You can practice a whole hell of a lot and still not be very good. And yes beginners also includes people who need to improve. (Duh). I'm a nice guy when you try on your animations and not act like a 10 year old when you type. It's hated almost unanimously in the forum. I like your animations and I hope you do get better and don't quit like most newbies but its not that hard to just act your age. And if your 13 or younger I don't think you should be here.

very badddddddddd ....... :p:p:p

You need to learn where to put the cushioning of the frames and move everything every frame. The character won't just sit there if its a relatively powerful blast.

Thank you, I'm 15 and have only just started animating, that was my 1st and 2nd try, I will obviously get better as I go along, I just thought I would post them and see what response I got and how I could improve, obviously I could have made them more smooth, but they were about an hour of work each so I wasn't expecting them to be great, at the moment I'm working primarily on getting better at the movements rather than smoothness. I feel it would be better to spend about an hour to work on basic movement than, say, a full day on the same thing but making it smoother, as I'm sure you can imagine, my first comment on them being a single word was a bit annoying.

I will post some better ones in about a week or so, now that I have got some of the more simple stuff improved at least a bit.

No problem. But you have it wrong you want to practice smoothness with a ball bouncing and do all kinds of animations with force and gravity. So you know how much to move the stick in each frame for the amount of force you're trying to portray to everyone else.

Don't mind the blue guy and the blood, I just put them there to make it more interesting. I only made this so that I can practice my fighting skills and test the sound effects. The black guy is the one you should really comment on. C&C anyone?

Pretty nice combo. The kick and the last punch lacked huge force to throw the blue guy that far. You said not to mind the blood but he wouldn't bleed from those shots. The reactions were the same on everything lol. The sounds weren't appropriate and there were a little off. The follow through after the punch was nice he would've moved a little forward though and he shakes at the end a little bit. Overall pretty nice, keep working man.
