No that's not one, you only get one if you are trying to get involved in something without fully understanding it. For instance if I stop him from posting a bunch of spam posts right now, there will be less spam overall if we settle this here. However if I let him keep doing it not only will I be annoyed, but there will be that much more spam.
Also yeah zed is pretty good at pivot, maybe he and I should do a joint.
Beginners, post your Pivot animations here.

These last few days have been epic for my animating morale. I'm still nowhere near your standard, Abyssal. Anyways, here's a front flip. Something about it doesn't seem right but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's the stick.

Make it more stylized. Longer stay in the air. Maybe slow motion.
Aug 25, 2009 7:46 AM #478482
Actually, slow motion is a really good idea. It'll show all the stages of the movement more. I might start recomending more beginners to do stuff in slow motion first. Thanks. I'll do that right now.
Kk, now half speed:

I noticed that I'd been tucking the feet in before the knees like I would on a back flip when I need to do it the other way around.

Not bad, but before somebody lands a frontflip, they extend their feet out all the way. It'll help you not have the guy so bent over after landing. Also, a person would usually tuck in their arms first and then swing them upwards so that they can use their arms momentum for more jump height.
Aug 25, 2009 8:46 AM #478507
Yeah, that's what I usually do for arms, but I decided this time I needed the momentum to actually make the flip rotate. It seemed hard to do with just legs. He didn't get much height in the end, so that's probably his fault for following my advice and not yours. And that's why he didn't have time to extend his feet out.
What I really need to do is be able to front flip. Then I could know how it works. I might look for something on youtube.
Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZQ2nEO_XRg - first 5 seconds or so. He does arms up but he also jumps higher and has a run up. I shall study this in more detail later, but I have to go now.

He should be higher in the air. To me it looks like it lacks easing.

hey what about my flip i already know how to fix it i wanted more C&C and i already know about the slide at the end

Aug 25, 2009 12:44 PM #478557
he jumps and all of a sudden is like 6 feet in the air, and towards the end of the actualy flip it gets really choppy. throw another slide in there. and as for untucking his feet, it looks like he untucks them when he hits the ground and it looks really weird. maybe some more easing with the jump and landing.
Aug 25, 2009 1:17 PM #478584
hey thanx a lot as for the landing i didnt know how to land him and that was the first flip i ever did

@ Avian: you're right. I really should have noticed the easing thing.
