Originality is a lie. Everything has been done before, and when you actually do make something original 5 Asians on the other side of the world did it 6 weeks before you. Faggots.

Lol. True fact.

so now what am i supposed to do for originality

Quote from MaxZAs I have said earlier. Be original.
'this is my lastest punch test and hopefully my last so i can move on to kicks'
Are those the only movements you want to learn? Punching and kicking are extremely easy movements. Try some more difficult things, a backflip kick, or rolling and then pulling someone's feet away from under their body. All I'm saying is, don't limit yourself to the easiest of easy. Explore your limits, try new things. Things never done before. That's how you get to greatness, exploring the limits of animating, doing original things, using too much commas. Ofcourse you need to animate well. Ofcourse you have to practice. But the most important thing, is being original.
But if you can't do, for example, a good kick, you can't do a backflip kick either. Originality is indeed very important, but basics are more.

but if you yourself have never done it, it's original for yourself. Everything should be seen relatively.

Don't yet. You don't even know how to do a good punch yet.

Quote from kingsmashDont DP=double post please Teriyakid because it is annoying and a looped walk is a walk that looks like it goes on forever but it really stops and starts again
and can some1 C&C this, this is my lastest punch test and hopefully my last so i can move on to kicks
Just make stickfigure that can bend its back.

Quote from RivalThats not really hard to make....
It's his second. Smoothness and grasp of physics like that is unheard of in someone so new. Did you see how perfectly his line kept to the same path on his easing test earlier? Not one pixel off either side. It may be basic but it's way better than he should be.
Quote from TeriyakidEr... i dunno what a "Loop walk" is ._. can u give me an example or something?
another thing, whos Turkoise lol o.O?
I would love to. I'm that arrogant about it that it needs italics.

And Turkoise is an awesome animator.
Quote from kingsmashand can some1 C&C this, this is my lastest punch test and hopefully my last so i can move on to kicks
MUCH better. You could use a new stick, like Avian says, with a few back joints, and the leg on the ground could extend more. The body could have used a frame of anticipation and there's a bit of jerkiness at the end but overall it's good. You can move on to kick tests any time you want.

Yay! Zawbee's back. I could use some cc in my thread if you have time, although I've got to sort out that little red x first. It's supposed to be much better than my other stuff but at the moment it seems rather inanimate.

Actually that was his 4th.
And Just know how to make a perfect path, or knowing to smooth things, isn't a miracle in the world for a second. He might have looked on tuts before he posted?

Look, I'm now emotionally commited to but****in' this guy, k? Looking at tutorials would be a small miracle in itself anyway.

Lulz, to anyone looking at this from that collab section I posted in, please forget I ever said anything. I've gotten so rusty, but it has been like... 2 years or maybe 16 months since I last used pivot.
Here is my most recent test.

I don't remember how to make the frame rate go up when I save it as a jpg.
I'm kinda embarrassed. I used to be pretty good :\

If you're not already, you need to set frame delay to 6 or frame rate to 16 depending on whether you use piv 2 or 3.
Edit: following Zawmbee's comment below and subsequent source checking in the DD vets section, if that is you I'm sure it won't take you long to get back into it. It looks like the collab will take a while if we have three days each so don't rule yourself out just yet.

Are you the original jester? J3ST3R? From DD?
Sep 1, 2009 7:25 PM #482108
Lol no. I've never heard of all these other Jester's before, it seems my namesakes are great animators though. Hope that doesnt mean people expect me to be great -_-
I'm no great pivoter, but I do have multiple years of practice under my belt. I will try and work off the rust, but don't expect me to be as good as the other Jesters of the interwebs :P

Edit: I seem to have been delete-ninjad. There was an animation here, I swear it.
Ok, not unworkable. At first I thought you'd saved it wrong but it was just lagging a lot. Your cutscreens, zooms, and cinematic effects in general weren't bad, relatively. What you need to work on is the basics. You need to apply easing to all your movements. You need to try to move every joint in every frame to avoid stiffness. Your physics failed in places but was ok (if uneased) most of the time.
I think the best way for you to improve for now would be to make some much shorter but higher quality animations. Try doing some tests for running, walking, jumping, and physics in isolation before combining them up to something this big.
Read through this, it will hopefully help you a lot.
