there's a noticeable jerk on the couple of frames where the legs are crossing, if you could fix that it would be near perfect

I like your sticks. Did you make them yourself? Those are pretty decent for a beginner, just be sure to add some back joints. As for the animations, I'll start with the first one. The initial shot fired from the arm is eased out, which is nice, but it is applied incorrectly. Space out the blast farther in the beginning and go off from there to create the effect of something moving fast, while still maintaining easing. As for the initial reaction, you're going in the right direction, just be sure to move the rest of the body. Right now though, with the weak shot going off, you won't need to do that. If you need some references on how to shoot a beam like that, look at Samus shoot a charged up shot in Super Smash Bros., that should help you out greatly.
As for the dashing animation, I like it's originality. With everyone's animations, I sometimes forget that things like flying with rocket boots can be animated. The running has it faults, and you should be able to find a tutorial on that. With the jet boost, you should try to make the stick lean into it a bit more, and make him fly. Try to avoid walk in loops, and incorporate some basic camera effects. Other than that, keep it up, and stay original.

Can't do a frontflip off a wall. The forces don't work. Not that much else to add really.

I think you should try to perfect you movements a bit better before going on to effects. Try some simple run cycles and jumps and stuff first.
