Never been able to get the arms right on a run :/

My gin bottle and I are pulling an all nighter, so give me some short simple things to animate.

Ooh, yes. I tried and failed at that one once before. I'm just doing a quick vertical jump and then I'll get on that.

Higher elbows and 2 cycles before repeat instead of 1? Maybe he is right footed and leads a longer stride with his right arm and leg?

Wow- giving a tip to the guy who I started getting pivot help from... BTW Why did you ignore me back in about november?

Two strides might look more natural, certainly.

It's possible that I was away for a few days and didn't notice. I don't think I did it on purpose. Was this a PM or a post?

Update:

The stick I'm using today is so badass he's doing an abdominal workout in mid-air (excuse for accidentally-made-it-too-loose-and-cba-to-fix).

If you're talking about how high the front knee goes, I had it like that originally and it looked like the hips were jutting forwards so I rotated every frame back by 30 degrees or so. I guess it might work with just spreading the legs more. I think I should add an extra frame or two to it too. Bam. All the tu's in one sentence.

actually- I have a rpoblem with shortening the legs accidentally- it was to show the arms- but I think I used a brush too large to show what I meant to convey- you are afterall using pivot

Oh, right. Ok.

Exilement's stairs, handled like a boss:

I'm actually pretty proud of this. It's not perfect, and I realised halfway through that the stairs were massive relative to the stick, but it's a passable stair-step and that's an achievement.

You could adapt it to a rock climb maybe? Never seen that pulled off in flash.

I think the size of the steps is a real issue in animated stairs. Up there the stairs go as high as the guys knee. If you compare that to the size of your stairs at home it's like three times the size. Any smaller, though, and it looks wrong animated. Cartoons need exaggeration. There's a very fine balance between getting something aesthetically pleasing and getting something it's physically possible to climb.

I'm just tipsy enough to think this thought is some massive breakthrough in basic movement animation.
