ow and mescool, please don't post just smiley's... and specially don't double post them....
and I'll just give random advice, use a self made stick-figure made in the stick-figure builder, just edit the default stick-man and delete all segments (lines). basically you have 3 segments in the back, 2 in each limb and a neck is optional (I use em, and let them stay dynamic to make extra mobility possible. when you want to expand your basic stick be sure you add the segments to the the part they are supposed to move with (like and expanded under arm segment need added to the last dot in the arm and so forth).
also is it a must to think about having a horizon, NEVER LET YOUR STICKS FLOAT IN THIN AIR WHEN THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TOO !! (most beginners make that mistake). also you should practice (till you drop dead) the basic movements like walking (must have) kicking (use pretty much by everyone) and hitting (can't leave that one out)... running is a more advanced "basic" movement and requires more training, I see a lot "higher ranked" animators that still don't really got that one down. on each of these moves you can develop your own style.
here are some tutorial links (i only read the first one to be honest, but I'm "different" (other call it stubborn)):
