How do you make smoothe movements?

a car that will go 50mph must go 1-49 first,and when it stops,50-1 first.
Basically start off with small movements,increase their size a little bit each frame,and when the movement is ending,slow it down a bit each frame until th figure type is STILL.Kinda simple when you get the hang of it
