EDITED: Image since my physics sucks, ima focus on that for a while so here's a test of it

Don't forget that falls start off slow and get faster as they go down.

Image and here's a run with it ^_^ but this is before i made the bendy back D:

I'm sorta obliged to like this one 'cos it's got my style of arms. The arms are good. Do more of those arms. I noticed you took them out in the later version. Add them back in.

I think the real problem is not extending the legs far enough. Take a look at mine or Rival's on the previous pages and see how far the legs go. That extra extension will mean more time in the air which is when you've got to use physics and make them bob up and down.

Hey, here's a walking loop test, please C&C

You need to slow it down a bit. You aren't taking enough frames over it. Also, make sure the front foot is down before the back foot comes up. The arms need to be a bit more floppy at the elbow and ease a bit. The front leg needs to be a bit more floppy at the knee - for the last few frames of the front extension the thigh should only barely move (ease it there) while the shin keeps coming forward. Then there should be at least one frame where the thigh is coming backwards and the shin is still going forwards.

i hope that i did make it a bit better whit moving head and spine
and iam working on the shakyness and easing

Where is the centre point of your stick? It looks like you're having to re-place him every time, which shouldn't be necessary. Try one animation where you don't touch the body or arms at all and just focus on the legs. It will look unnatural but we'll work our way up from there.

Study this. It's the best you'll find.

As for the throw: your left handed? Was wobbly at the legs, and it felt very wrong.

Your throw started off ok, but I would have brought the non-ball hand down as reaction to the throw. As for the physics, I'm going to sleep now so I'm just going to copy my physics tut in here. Make of it what you will.

Ball Physics

I call it ball physics but it applies to absolutely anything that’s flying through the air.

In a horizontal throw, the ball should be at a constant speed relative to the ground, like this:

Image

This should be combined with the vertical axis which will look like this with the ball at maximum velocity as it leaves the start, eased into the top of the throw, and then stopping suddenly at the bottom. After the stop it will bounce:

Image

The overall effect is something like this:

Image

An example of the physics of a horizontal throw:

Image

Little bit rushed. Just imagine that the ball's made of iron which is why it doesn't bounce much and the stickman's been throwing it around all day so that's made him stiff.

When things fall, they start off slowly and gradually accelerate until they hit the ground at which point the stop and start moving in the opposite direction at maximum speed. The will then gradually slow down until they reach the top of the bounce and then the process starts again:

Image

Edit: Shit, those red ball ones at the beginning are bad, aren't they? I'll remake later, but they get the gist across for now.

THAT is called realism, something you don't have that often in your anims....

Your arms are zed's arms, wich is actually stolen then. Not complaining about that though. I think that style is unrealistic as hell though.

The animator from that is an elite pivoter, so you really won't find any better then that. He made this: http://darkdemon.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=22662
It helps all the new ones.

This is my first attempt at a guy firing a beam... I really suck at pivot right now, and am wanting some advice.

Image

Here is an attempt at an electrical charge and lightning.

And finally, an attempt at some ollies off a funbox. If anyone could give me advice, it would be appreciated.

*sigh* we have to say this every time. your first anims should be tests of running/walking/jumping. If you don't do tests you won't get better and you wont leave this thread. and the blue anim: DON'T USE STICKS FROM DROIDZ!!!!! OR ANYWHERE!! always make your own sticks

Image
that stick is wrong. lengthen the legs and shrink the head. now read some easing tuts because that walk will never get any better without easing.

I got another walking test, please C&C

@ Tobbe
To me, that walk looks like a zombie is limping to eat someones brains... You might wanna look up some tutorials on walking to help you out on that.
