Yeah but then you'd have to go editing each of the frames individually, that'd be too laborious.

Actually, if you're using Pivot 3 it would be doable.

Still fucking gay though.

Quote from TahM1nJust tossing this idea out there, wouldn't it be interesting if 2 people made an animation, one animating the arms and body of the figure, and the other animating the legs.
And more CC please?
actually yes. ive actually seen something like this done before. every body animated 1 limb of the stickfigure. it was rather interesting, and if you have the patience the product is quite entertaining. to see all these differnt animators styles, all used in this one stickfigure.

First time, I'm like "Damn it scarecrow, why?" but then I got over it.

Still really quite stiff. Especially on the walking. You need to bend the knees a bit. Still good force, as ever.

oh my god that first animation made me laugh uncontrollably, as well as that little kick in the second one
aside from stiffness you should read up a bit on anticipation and whatnot so that any attacks you animate don't look unintentionally comical. i'll post an example animation sometime later if i still have pivot but i'm laughing at your tests because the force shown does not match the anticipation (or wind up) of your stickman's movements
think about like this ok: when someone throws a ball they don't just flat out throw it do they? not if they want some distance, i mean. if you want to throw a ball far, you wind up somehow and get your whole body into a motion to generate a good amount of power.
apply that idea to punches and kicks. you have tremors and blood to visually sell that there's force in your movements, but it's not believable. a basic way to add anticipation is to bring something back, then have it explode forward. so if you were going for a kick, you would bring the leg back a decent amount and have it accelerate forward (while applying the concept of easing to some extent) until it kicks something
ok

An attempt at a shadow effect:

[EDIT] And some anticipation, a little bit rushed :/

[EDIT AGAIN] Imported into Flash and added sounds!

@Excellion1498: Nice try and all that, but i recommend not doing any effect type thing until you've got the basic movements down right.
In the walk loop
a) It seemed a bit stiff, so to remedy this try moving every joint in the frame(at least as much as possible without it becoming "jerky").Basically, dont move just the elbow and the knees, but the hand and the foot too.
b) The guys feet were sliding across the ground, and I don't think people usually do that. Have him lift his feet and take actual steps.
In the punch:
a) Same stiffness problem, like i said before, move the hands and the feet too(not just the punching arms joints, ALL of them)
b) Slidey feet, you know what i'm talking about
c) There wasn't enough POWER in the punch that justified the screen shaking. To fix this, try to heavy-space the punch(i'll try and explain the concept later, or i'll link you to a tutorial),and make the whole body move more towards the direction of the punch
d) A little bit more easing would have helped both animations a great deal
And one more thing, if you'd really like to improve your pivot animations, I recommend you go to a more dedicated forum like darkdemon.org or pivotanimation.net. They can offer you much more advice and have a good ranking system that shows you where you stand(trust me, being promoted feels real good and incredibly satisfying)
Personally I'd choose pivotanimation.net, because there's a much friendlier feel over there. But DD pushes you to perform much harder, and therefore you improve faster. Your choice.
@javelin: Nice, you seem to have gotten most of the basics down, but stiffness is still a problem I think, and the fall was overeased(people fall much faster than that) . Don't make all your movements entirely symmetrical, because it looks unrealistic. The zooming in could have been made a lot smoother by easing(for example increase the stick size first by 1, then 2, then 5, then 15, then 45, and so on)
Again, as i said to excellion, join darkdemon or pivotanimation.

I have DD, but I'd have to start animating everyday or so and I can't do that, anyway thanks for the CC. also this was my first decent animation in ages, first time I've pivoted in ages....
