Post Either Your Band, Your Favorite Band, or anything that has to do with bands here....
BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR "BAND" THRED, THINK ABOUT WHETHER IT WOULD FIT BETTER HERE...
EXAMPLE:
Quote from "exmpl thread"
Discuss how much you love Elvis Presley here...

This topic would fit better in "THE BAND THREAD" rather than it being it's own thread...
Example 2:
Quote from "exmpl thread2"
disscuss your favorite rock band

Again, this topic would be better if it was in the band thread...

Discuss how awesome Enter Shikari are.

But, I think the whole idea of the music section was to discuss your musical tastes and favourite bands here.

It means Enter The Hunter. I've had an obsession with the band for like 3 years. It's just something aout their music I love. It's the music I always wanted but never found.

Also, 'Sorry, you're not a winner' is a favourite song of many, Mantha.

What the **** is the point of this? Are you trying to make this thread as a catch-all for threads started about specific bands?

That's like making "The Book Thread" in the literature section. Quit stickyfishing.

Also, bands are overrated.

Promoting your band is a bad idea?

Nope.

Look for VICIOUS CIRCLE UK In google. thats my step brothers band.

EXAMPLE, You like the stuff, you tell your friends, they tell others, it spreads.

When you and a few friends can play a song like Beast and the harlot, in perfection, thats much more amazing than laying down a computer generated drum beat and some techno shit.

Bands are over rated if you suck and form a band so you can say, UMG IM IN A BAND.

Arguing this point is clearly going to be useless, since I can already tell you're too ignorant to admit to this, but just for the sake of itself...

You're confusing instrumentation with musicianship. Playing a difficult song on an instrument is vastly different than writing music.

With "computer generated techno shit", you're still writing music. In many cases, it's usually much more varied, complex and involved music than your average rock track, though I'm sure you'll be inclined to disagree with me, since you probably have a very, very narrow perspective of what electronic music actually is. It's that or you're just trolling to make your argument sound better. Either way, you're acting like a jackass.

Those are two songs by BT off of an album called This Binary Universe. That album's been described as a collection of music that, centuries later, may very well be researched as the penultimate example of music from our era. The entire album uses glitches, reversed soundscapes, a 110 piece orchestra, extremely complex time signatures (among them being 5/1, 7/4 and 13/8, all of which are in a single song) and one song was programmed entirely in C Sound over the course of 6 months.

I dare you to try and show me a single rock album akin to Beast and the Harlot that can match the complexity of this "computer generated techno shit"

That's a pretty ignorant and biased statement you got there. Tell me one thing, who died and made you the King of all Things Music? Why should something be considered "more amazing" just because it can be performed right there in front of people? Many people prefer electronic music because they prefer production value over performance.

And at any rate, you act as if all computer generated music can't be performed live. Ever heard of the term "DJ"? Ever seen Flying Lotus' live shows? Why don't you try and perform an electronic song live in concert and see just how much effort goes into it.

Theres no screams in that song. Douche.

Its about the downfall of babylon, because of peoples greed.

Faggot, at the name of the song, you instantly though, UMFG EMO MUSIC. i hate emo shit. Hard rock / Metal.

[EDIT] didnt see everyone elses posts,

Exilement, no, you seem to have misjudged me, fair enough, thats rather decent. i was talkling about things like: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7W8FFSKRE which is played EVERYWHERE, it ****ing annoys me, if your talking about this sort of thing. then you did get my point of view correct. Thats what i meant, i may have used the wrong word, if so, sorry.

Gavel: Ive been to a hadouken concert, google. You seem rather ignorant with the " who died and made you the King of all Things Music" is childish and i thought better of you. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lI59DwSPcTg Thats no complex? To pull this sort of thing off, you need to be applying the right amount of strenght to the string, or the note will not prenounce, hit the string in the right fret and in the correct possition in the fret, hit the string at the right time with both hands, using all 4 of your fingers for different jobs. In my mind, thats harder than electronic music.
