Sure, it was a shot gun and he'd probably move that far, but he was going to slow, so it made it look like he magically flew off. For one thing, his body didn't even react to the shot to where it looked like he got shot by a shotgun. It looks like he got shot with a little handgun and was swung offscreen by strings. If it were a shotgun blast, his back would bend much more than that. Especially if the force of the shot pushed him that far.
