So I have an IT class and the juniors (my class) take it first in the morning, followed by the seniors. We all have our own accounts on the computers where we can store all out work in the class and work in programs and such and when someone doesn't log off, we prank their computer. Well we did it to the seniors the other day and it sparked a prank war between the junior and senior class.. The game has become, find out what they did and change it before you can start working in class. But now I need some REALLY clever geek jokes to play on people. So far here's whats been done.

  • Replacing the desktop with a screen shot of the desktop.
  • Setting an icon to shut off the computer when clicked.
  • Setting the voltage switch down some so when the computer is booted up it runs through like normal till it tries to load the OS, runs out of power, and restarts the process.
  • Switched the desktop to the broken monitor desktop
  • Used Blue screen of death screen saver
  • Switching the keyboards to computers (left keyboard works for computer to the right, while right keyboard works for computer to the left)
  • Created a batch file with nearly endless messages that runs on boot
  • Downloaded programs that randomly make the computer: Beep, move the mouse, turn capslock on, turn off the monitor and open the CD tray.
  • Downloaded a program that makes it impossible for the mouse to hover over a button such as the start menu, or OK buttons.

I need more awesome pranks to pull on computers like these. The only rule is that the prank can not stop them from doing their work for the more than 10-15 minutes. You can not open the computer to change anything. You can not delete any files of any kind. Changing passwords or hacking passwords is a no. (the professor is fine with it so long as it won't disrupt class much) All pranks must be harmless in nature...

By the way, I'll elaborate on what to do for most of the pranks if you guys want to do em yourselves :P

I'm assuming you just switched the desktop for the broken monitor wallpaper. If so, you're doing it wrong.

Here's how it's SUPPOSED to be done.

Step 1: Take a screenshot of the desktop
Step 2: Crop this image to match the size of the desktop screenshot, cropping mainly off the left and bottom.
Step 3: Open up photoshop or fireworks or something, and put the cropped image on top of the screenshot in a new layer.
Step 4: Find a layer filter (overlay or whatever) that looks good with the screenshot. When you find a fitting one, it can be really convincing. It looks best if it distorts the colours a bit, hides the background completely where the cropped image is black.
Step 5: Replace desktop with new image on someone else's computer.
Step 6: Blame said person.

Not doign anything that would halt them for awhile, just little things that they could laugh at, figure out what was done, and then fix in about 10 minutes

Find the bit of code that opens and shuts the CD/DVD drive, and put it in a for loop (99999999 time). Then make the exe into a desktop icon.

I like this idea since its annoying and easy enoug to fix once you know what was done.

I got one that does it randomly which I like better since they may NEVER know that its a prank xD

Put a porn vid or something onto a dvd, put the dvd on the computer and save it into wherever you save stuff. Then make a link on the desktop to that file and change the icon to Internet Explorer or something.
