DJ Kid Cut Up & Common and DJ Format feat. Abdominal are pretty awesome, and so are old-schools like Sugarhill Gang, House Of Pain, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer etc. etc.

Well I have to say I hate most of the stuff today, except underground, but yeah, the 80's & 90's were the best.
Here's some Grandmaster Flash.

Well Kanye is weak now because he's imitating T-Pain, so IDK what the hell is up with him.
But yeah Common is a legendary emcee.

As much as I agree with this, I hate it that whenever an artist uses a vocoder or robotic pitch change in their vocals, everyone writes him off as a T-Pain wannabe. If anything, T-Pain is imitating Zapp or Peter Frampton or anyone else before him that used vocoder synths in their vocals.

Another thing to consider is that today's R&B isn't even R&B. It's pop music sung by black people. The Motown era was when the genre actually was Rhythm 'n' Blues.

True. But I hate it when Kanye sings. I think he should go back to rapping

Same thing with most modern day hip-hop. I forget who it was who coined this (I think it was one of the guys from Binary Star), but there's hip-hop, and there's hip-pop. Flo Rida is an example of hip-pop.
