Well, ever since 3 months after he died, I took a look at all of George Carlins shows. And I getta tell ya, I love the man. But I'm not gay.

Anyway, what George Carlin does, what makes him a little different than other comedians, is that he spends almost all of his shows (so not alll of them), to tell you the damn truth about everything. With humor. He tells us things in the way he sees truth in them and he has a very convincing way of telling us.

Now, with this, he's kinda similar to Jesus, Mohamed, or any other prophet, right?

I mean, he brings us 'the word of God', which, in this case, is logic/truth.

Can he be seen as a Prophet of Logic?

While I love George Carlin with a huge degree of sincerity, and I understand what you're getting at, I don't think "Prophet" is the right word to use.

Excellent use of weasel words! I don't give a shit what the "rest of the world" thinks, I was just giving my personal opinion. You will notice that when I gave my opinion I didn't feel the need to back it up with BS statements about what "everyone else" thinks in order to try and imply that my opinion is the correct one.

*resists urge to point out hypocrisy to Ash and then turn this thread into a religious debate.*

Anyway he can't be a prophet as prophets are physical embodiments of Gods words. At least that is old idea of a prophet. >_>

I wasn't. You were saying that you were suprised that someone thought so highly of George Carlin, and I was saying that it wasn't that much of a suprise, since he is so universally praised.

Oh, and since he has won loads of awards, I'd say he is a well-appreciated comic.

LET ME SAY IT AGAIN.

I do not care how many awards George Carlin has won. I do not care how many people like him. My opinion of him is a NEGATIVE ONE. And no matter how many people say otherwise will change that.

Never did I say that I think it is uncommon for people to think highly of George Carlin. You will notice that I said "I never found him to be that funny or that smart." I did NOT say "I never found him to be that popular." There is a huge difference. I know that he is thought highly of by many. I was simply trying to say that I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.

Clearly, you misunderstood me.

I NEVER said he was an under appreciated comic and I NEVER said that he was unliked. Get my words straight.
